The Lord’s words in today’s Gospel speak to a great and yearning hunger in the heart of each of us. We are everlastingly restless and unquiet, always wanting more than we have, always with eyes fixed on the future, anxious to be anywhere but here. Perhaps it was with this unsatisfied hunger that the serpent tempted Eve: ‘You will be like gods’ (Gen 3:5a). Certainly it was that hunger that made the great and worldly-wise St. Augustine say : ‘Our hearts are restless until they rest in you.’ Distribution of Holy Communion at Our Lady of Mount Carmel The servers and choir (when present) receive Communion first. Would parishioners please then come from the front (Our Lady’s side) and then from the back (Sacred Heart side). This will avoid the congestion we currently have when both sides of the church are coming forward and returning to their seats all at the same time. Thank you. CAR PARKING As you will have noticed the parking space markings have been updated in the car park. This is in accordance with Health & Safety guidelines. We ask all parishioners using the car park to park within the spaces provided and to be considerate to the parking needs of others and respectful of pedestrians accessing the church.
