How we did Random sampling
1. We separated male students and female students
2. We numbered all of the students in each group
3. Used random number generator
4. For male students, we picked 8 students out of 20 students
5. For female students, we picked 6 students out of 15 students
6. 20:15 = 8:6
Visual map of random sampling
SPPS Students
8 male students
3 times shooting with closed eyes
3 times shooting with opened eyes
6 female students
3 times shooting with closed eyes

Since our subjects all receive same treatments, we cannot apply random assignment. However, we could apply random sampling to our experiment as shown in previous slideTherefore, our experiment can be used among population, but do not has cause & effect
Potential bias
• We could not control the subjects’ sleeping time, nutrients
• Subjects did not have same physical strength
• Subjects did not have equal eyesight level
Experimental or Observational study?
EXPERIMENTAL STUDY!!!!
Treatment
• Instructed subjects to close or open their eyes during basketball shooting
Single-blind or Double-blind
• Single blind
• Why not Double blind?
