Introduction to the Community & School Sports Department The Community and School Sports Department is based at Fort Regent and was introduced in 2006. The department is funded by Education, Sport & Culture and the Home Affairs Department and has the responsibility to ensure that sport is inclusive to all children on Jersey.

Through our partnership with State Street we are able to provide a programme of sport activities for anyone aged 8-15 years old during the summer and autumn school holidays at a significantly low cost to parents & guardians.

How to BookBy Post: Please complete the application form in full and return together with the correct payment to Community & School Sports Department (Holiday Course), Fort Regent, St Helier, JE2 4UX. Payment is required at the time of booking (cash or cheques accepted).

Please make cheques payable to ‘TREASURER OF THE STATES’.

All applications are processed on a first come first served basis. All activities based at Fort Regent have limited availability. Please book early to avoid disappointment.

Important notes for parents/guardiansAll activities will start and finish at the times stipulated. Please ensure that participants arrive and are collected at the correct times. Instructors cannot take responsibility for children outside session times.

• Access to drink or food at the café is not permissible.

• Please ensure participants bring plenty to drink (non fizzy) and a packed lunch.

• All equipment will be provided except when indicated.

• Please ensure appropriate footwear and clothing is worn (refusal may be given if inappropriate clothing is worn).

The safety and welfare of your child is the sole responsibility of the Community and School Sports Department whilst the sessions are being delivered.

As a result we would ask that parents and guardians are only allowed inside the sports halls when signing your child in or out.

The activities on offer in this booklet are for the 2013 summer and autumn half term holidays. All costs are listed next to the activity.

PLEASE NOTE:

Cancelations and requests for refunds must be made in writing to the Community and School Sports Department at least one week before the course start date.

We would respectfully ask that parents/guardians ensure that participants attend all 3 days of the activities. This is due to a high demand for places owing to the low cost to the KICK OFF courses.

Failure to attend all 3 days without suitable cause could result in future applications being rejected.

The department of Education Sport & Culture reserve the right to cancel or amalgamate courses/sessions should there be insufficient demand.

In order to ensure safety and enjoyment of all youngsters the department for Education Sport & Culture reserves the right to refuse applications or withdraw participants from activities. Parents/guardians will be informed should the situation arise by the Community Development Officer (Sport) or a member of the department.
