Curriculum
The curriculum of the accelerator is comprised of four (4) stages of startup development. There is no defined duration in each stage since
the extent of curriculum implementation depends on the types of startup (i.e. team maturity and industry) in the cohort. Each stage
determines the level of maturity of the startup. The minimum stage requirement for startups to graduate from the accelerator programme is
at the Validation Stage.

Mentor-Mentee Expectations
Our mentors are here to help you launch and accelerate your startup. Each mentor has an area of expertise (ex. marketing, UX-UI, legal, etc.) that they can help you in. Each startup can have more than 2 mentors, depending on its need.
UC BEEHIVE team will arrange the first mentor-startup meeting. Succeeding meetings will depend on the agreement between the mentor and the startup. The number of hours spent by the mentor with the startup depends on the mentor's assessment.
Mentor-Mentee Expectations
In general, mentors are here to guide you in your journey - not to provide you with the “right” answers or to make decisions for you. Instead, think of mentors as a valuable resource to help you work through problems, situations, and decisions.
Make sure to clearly communicate and align on roles, deliverables, and expectations. And always be respectful towards one another - respect is the key towards a productive mentor relationship.
It is very important to keep in mind that the mentor-mentee relationship is a two-way street. Therefore, each party has a role to play and expectations to fulfill.
Mentor-Mentee Expectations
What to Expect from Mentors:
• To share their knowledge, advice, and guidance in their area of expertise
• To probe and ask you the questions you need to consider in order to solve a problem/situation
• To be a sounding board and help you brainstorm and/or provide feedback on ideas
• To be respectful of your ideas, problems, and contributions.
Mentor-Mentee Expectations
What Mentors Expect from YOU:
• To listen, be open to feedback, and to consider new ideas, even if these ideas differ from yours
• To ask questions, be curious, and be prepared for your scheduled mentor meetings
• To follow through on your agreements and do what you say you’ll do• To be respectful of their time, expertise, and advice, especially during
times of disagreement
Mentoring Process1. Contact the Mentor*
Ask for an appointmentSchedule/re-schedule the meeting
2. Attend the Mentor’s Office Hours**
Attend the mentoring session.Don’t be late.
3. Provide Feedback***
Fill-out the Google Form every mentoring session and give your insights and feedback.
*Majority of the mentors preferred to be contacted via email. **Mentoring session can either be face-to-face/offline, or online.***Each team member must give his/her insights and feedback in every mentoring session. The URL of the Google Mentor Feedback Form shall be sent to your email.
Meeting Preparation TIPS
On Scheduling:
• Reach out to the mentor you want to meet and schedule a meeting with them individually.
• Since all our mentors are working professionals, available meeting schedules can vary from mentor to mentor.
• Make sure to clarify the date, venue, time, and length/duration of the meeting.
• Inform your mentor of your proposed agenda for the meeting (i.e., what concerns or problem areas you’d like to discuss). Make sure your agenda is realistic given the time/duration of the meeting.
• The contact details will be given to you via email.
Meeting Preparation TIPS
Meeting Preparation:
• Review notes from your last mentor meeting, including the deliverables you and your mentor
• agreed on.• Prepare all the updates, documents, and/or presentations you
promised you’d provide.• Review your meeting agenda. What are the main topics you wanted to
discuss?• List down the specific questions, thoughts, or ideas you’d like to
discuss per agenda topic.
Meeting Preparation TIPS
Meeting Proper:
• Actively engage, communicate, and share ideas with your mentor.• Take detailed notes and/or insights from the meeting so you can
review it again later on.• Be mindful of the time. A 1-hour meeting can go by fast, so make sure
you cover all topics.• Clarify and be specific with your mentor about your deliverables, next
steps, and deadlines.• Set the next mentor meeting (if applicable).
Startup Portfolio
Each startup must maintain a portfolio which contains pieces of evidence of work in progress, startup
journal, startup tools, deliverables in each stage, and other necessary documents.
This portfolio is managed online using a Google Drive folder named after the startup brand name. The link
to this portfolio will be sent to each team member’s email.
Each team member and the accelerator manager have access to this portfolio. This startup portfolio will
serve as reference in each team check-in.

Progress Monitoring and Post Evaluation
Each startup is monitored every week. Monitoring activities are Weekly Team Check-ins and Prototype
Checking.
During the scheduled team check-in, each startup is given a specific time slot to meet with the Accelerator
Manager for a private meeting. Milestones, current status, issues and challenges are discussed during the
meeting.
Progress Monitoring and Post Evaluation
Each startup is evaluated after the 12-week acceleration programme. The following are assessed during the
evaluation:
Progress: Startup Stage, MRL, IRL and TRL
Performance: Startup Portfolio
The results of the post-evaluation will determine if the startup is qualified to graduate or to pitch during the
Demo Day. In addition, the post-evaluation is also the basis for the top 3 performing startups.
