Monday - WEEK 10 – Writing TEST

(MUST DO!)

MUST DO We are writing a response to an animation. A response is where you watch or read something and write about it. We’re

going to watch an animation and write about it. It must be handwritten NOT typed.

No teacher examples because we want to see you do this all by yourself! You will have THREE DAYS to complete this.

The animation is ‘The Present’. You can Youtube this or go straight to the link.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_nJJHaNmnY

You need to:

• Watch this video

• Brainstorm ideas about the boy and the dog, here are questions to think about:

- why do you think the mother gave the boy the present (what did she want to happen from this), how does the boy feel about his present, why

do you think he feels like this, what makes him change his mind about the present? How do you think the dog feels about the boys reaction to

him.

- Can you make a connection/does this remind you of anything?

YOU MIGHT LIKE TO DISCUSS THIS WITH A FAMILY MEMBER. THERE WILL ALSO BE INFORMATION SENT IN THE AFTERNOON

OF STUDENT COMMENTS FROM OUR ZOOM THAT MIGHT HELP YOU WITH YOUR IDEAS!

Page 12: Stage 2 Learning from Home Term 3, Week 10

Tuesday & Wednesday - WEEK 10 – Writing

Time to WRITE your response. Use the questions and your brainstorm to help you

write your ideas into sentences.

You might like to start with: In the animation, The Present, there is a boy…

There is a sheet for you on the next page to write your

ideas,

Learning Goal: To write a response about the animation, ‘The Present’.

Success Criteria

– I can write 4 or more ideas (sentences) about your thoughts and

feelings on the boy and dog.

- I can edit and revise my writing to check that my spelling is correct and

my writing makes sense.

- I can use my best handwriting.

Music – TUESDAY – Week 6

On the back write a list of all the nice things your creature does and all the scary things your creature does.

Library Week 10

Watch the video of Mrs Marden reading the Shortlisted text – No! Never!

https://drive.google.com/file/d/18-rpgX7PbckLOj-gyCfPLmNB92bxcPV4/view?usp=sharing

Uh Oh! Georgie has learnt the phrase No! Never! Which she uses whenever she doesn’t want to do something and is making it very hard for her family.

Your task is to:

Fold a piece of paper into four to make a little booklet. The link below will give you an idea about making your booklet. You do not need to staple it if you aren’t able to.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LiVqbQm6d20

Georgie loves saying NO! but sometimes it’s fun to say YES! Plan a YES day that you could complete with your family. Illustrate in your booklet activities you would do if

your parents were only allowed to say yes! Also write about each YES thing you could do. (Don’t forget the tiny details like the pain on your parent’s faces of having to say

YES to your requests!!)

Or

Sometimes we can all be very stubborn like Georgie. Interview an adult that knows you well like a parent, grandparent, auntie, uncle, big sister, brother or even a friend

about what you were like when you were younger. You may have to do this over the phone. In your booklet carefully illustrate in detail and write under each illustration the

things they told you about you

We have a new music mission! We are learning about body percussion!

Watch the video: Boom, Snap, Clap.

If you don’t have access to Youtube, try coming up with your own body percussion tune!

You can do this with someone at home, or by yourself!

How fast can you go? Can you make the beats go on for longer than a minute?

Can you go fast so it sounds like a rap? Try rapping the alphabet at the same time! Maybe

someone can rap it for you! Or as background music to your favourite song! Don’t forget

to film yourselves!!
