St. Teresa’s College, a premier institute for higher learning, envisions a value-

oriented education for women. Mother Teresa of St. Rose of Lima, the founder of

CSST institute, established the College in the year 1925 and it is named after

and science Candidates who have passed qualifying examination in CBCSS

(2009) pattern should possess CGPA of not less than 1.80 out of 4.00

in the Core Group (core plus open and complementary courses).

However, if the CGPA scored by the graduate for common course is

greater than the CGPA scored for core course, the CGPA scored for

common course will be taken into account for the calculation of index

marks, provided they secure a minimum CGPA of 2.00 for common

course.

Candidates who have passed qualifying examination in CBCSS

(2013) pattern should possess CGPA of not less than 4.5 out of 10.00

in the Core Group (core plus open and complementary courses).

However, if the CGPA scored by the graduate for common course is

greater than the CGPA scored for core course, the CGPA scored for

common course will be taken into account for the calculation of index

marks, provided they secure a minimum CGPA of 5.00 for common

course.

Candidates who have passed qualifying examination in other patterns

should possess not less than 45% marks in main & subsidiary subjects

under Part III. However, If the mark scored by the graduate for Part I

English is greater than the mark secured for Part III, the mark secured

for Part I English will be taken into account for the calculation of

index mark, provided they secure a minimum of 50% marks for Part I

English.

Relaxation in Marks in the qualifying examination for admission to PG programmes:

Kerala Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe Category: The minimum grade in the qualifying

3. Where the number of seats is still less than 15 after such pooling, all PG programmes

may be pooled together.

4. After such pooling, if the number of seats exceeds multiples of 20 an additional seat can

The applicant for admission to the Sports quota should have represented at least the

UGC has notified the 3'd Amendment in UGC Regulations on29h June,2016 to expand the definitionof ragging by including the following:-

1. 3 (i) Any act of physical or mental abuse (including bullying and exclusion) targeted atanother student (fresher or otherwise) on the ground of colour, race, religion, caste, ethnicity,gender (including transgender), sexual orientation, appearance, nationality, regional origins,linguistic identity, place of bffi, place of residence or ecorpmic background.

UGC also drives an Anti Ragging Media Campaign through different modes and UGC had got develop the

following entities to promote anti ragging which are available on UGC website i.e. Www,ugc.?c.in

a. UGC has developed 05 TVCs of 30 sdconds each with different prospectiveand Offenders.

b. UGC has designed and distributed 04 types of po5ters amongst Universities/RegulatoryAuthorities/Councils/IlTsAIlTs/Other educational institutions for the prominent display of theseposters.

c. UGC had consecutively organized 02 Anti Ragging Competitions for students/faculty/generalpublic for the wider awareness of the menace of ragging.

You are requested to adopt these steps and to implement the gecommendations of the committee on"Psychosocial Study of Ragging in Selected Educational Institutions in India" (available on UGC website)and ensure a ragging free campus. This Circular may also be brought to the notice of colleges affiliated toyour esteemed University.

No. F. 1-15-/2009 (ARC).—In exercise of powers conferred under clause (g) of sub-section (1)

of section 26 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 (3 of 1956), the University Grants

Commission hereby makes the following regulations namely:—

(1) These regulations may be called “Curbing the menace of Ragging in Higher Educational

Institutions (third amendment), Regulations, 2016.”

(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publications in the Official Gazette.

2. In UGC Regulations on Curbing the menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions,

2009 (herein-after referred to as the Principal regulations), in Para 3 the following shall be

added after 3(i) under heading what constitutes Ragging.—

3(j). Any act of physical or mental abuse (including bullying and exclusion) targeted

at another student (fresher or otherwise) on the ground of colour, race, religion,

caste, ethnicity, gender (including transgender), sexual orientation, appearance,

nationality, regional origins, linguistic identity, place of birth, place of residence

or economic background.
