Dear Parents

First Eucharist is being celebrated this coming

Saturday at the 6pm Mass. Eucharist / Communion is

hugely important in the Catholic life of people because

it is all about nourishment, sustenance and strong,

steady growth. Interestingly, Eucharist is one of only

three Sacraments that we receive frequently, most

Sacraments are “once only”. Eucharist only makes

sense when it is frequent and habitual, so, for these

young people, a Eucharistic journey lies ahead.

The Combined Catholic Colleges / Catholic Primary

Schools gathered at Eastern Creek on Thursday and

Friday of last week for the Cross Country competition.

The Debutante Ball is composed of a host of elements,

some are highly visible, many are “behind the scenes”

but all are essential to the success of the function. This

Ball last Friday was a wonderful success because

each of the elements was so well done. Debs were

presented to Mrs Helen Finlay and Fr Owen Gibbons.

Congratulations to the lovely young ladies at centre

stage, to their partners and to the producers of such a

fine event in Cowra’s social calendar.

All members of the St Raphael’s family are invited to

attend the Kindergarten to Year Ten Assembly. The

assembly will be conducted in the church after morning

tea on this Friday (20th).

Later on Friday several staff members and Year 10

students are participating in the Vinnies Winter

Sleepout which involves raising funds by being

sponsored to sleep outdoors for a night. The funds

raised go to Vinnies to support homeless youth. For all

those in their warm beds, please support the project

through sponsorship.
