Home Learning Summer Term Week Beginning: 8th June

There are online lessons for each year group at Oak National Academy or BBC Bitesize. Please click on the links to access these.

This week’s whole school theme is ‘Wildlife and Animals’. Below we have included a daily timetable of activities and some additional ideas to support your child’s learning. Please let usknow what you have been up to by emailing your class teacher.

Home Learning Summer Term Week Beginning: 8th June – Raider’s Peril

This e-book is a mystery and adventure story based around children playing a video game called ‘Raider’s Peril’. The story focuses on an 11 year old girl called Katka, who spends all of her free time playing the game.

Katka raids through her alter-ego, Catanna Brittlestar, founder of the Brittlestar Guild. She is a sensible, responsible child who often has to look after her younger sister, Milana, due to their Mum’s busy work schedule.

The story has twists throughout, with Katka losing and gaining guild members and being faced with difficult decisions. It culminates with a lesson well learned: not everyone online is to be trusted but as long as everyone follows the rules, the internet can be a brilliant place to be with friends.

Your learning for this week will be based around this book. You may wish to start reading it as soon as possible, but I will leave that choice up to you
