Giving is easy while you are away this summer. Download the Online Giving app on your mobile device, search for our parish, and begin giving. Your support during these summer months helps sustain our parish. Go to OLGapp.com and click on the app store for your device. Enjoy your vacation!

Do you have questions about the Catholic Faith? Know someone who does, and may not yet be ready for the RCIA process? Our parish Seekers Group may be just right for you! The Seekers Group is an informal gathering for discussion of what it means to be Catholic. Please call the parish office at 337-1538 for more information. Please join us and invite a friend!

CLIMATE CHANGE

The issue of climate change continues to be a most urgent matter for all of us. A committee of concerned parishoners has put together an information sheet regarding this issue. If you have not yet done so, please pick up a copy from the bulletin table in the gathering area after Mass today.

YOUNG FAMILY ADORATION

There is a new opportunity blossoming at St. Pat's for those with babies/toddlers/children who still praise God with their voices and movement. While we know, intellectually, that we are welcome to be a full participant in all activities at St. Pat's, some folks with young families may feel uncomfortable joining in the quieter and more solemn events. Here's where the Young Families Adoration hour comes in! Every second Thursday of the month, from 6-7pm, Adoration will be a welcoming space specific for those with the wiggles and giggles. No commitments are necessary and you certainly don't need to feel obligated to stay the entire hour if that's not in the cards for your family. Come enjoy a safe place to pass on the beauty of Adoration!

ONLINE GIVING

A big thank you to the ACTS Women’s Group for volunteering to weed and fertilize the rose beds near the entrance of the church and Deacons Hall. These low growing roses are a prickly challenge to weed and the ladies did a wonderful job. This was the second evening of service for the ACTS ladies. In June they did a clean sweep of weeds in the garden beds within The Cloister. We would also like to thank Kathleen Bailey for tending the hanging baskets in the Columbarium area. These prima donnas of the garden require weekly dead heading and fertilizing. Her close monitoring of these plants also insures the watering system is working correctly. To all of our garden volunteers, a.k.a. ‘the Leprachauns,’ thank you for your work in our gardens. We have a need for a diligent weeder to adopt the bed in the center of the entrance driveway from E. 20th Ave. Please let Jean Watson know if you can help with this shrub bed. Contact her at 333-5799, leave a message at 333-4678 or send an email to [email protected].

FAITH IN THE FAR NORTH

Last year the Archdiocese released  the historical text, Alaska’s Archdiocese: Faith in the Far North, in honor of the Archdiocese’s 50th anniversary.  Alaska’s Archdiocese: Faith in the Far North is a meticulously researched text covering the history of Catholicism in the Archdiocese from the first Spanish explorers in 1779 all the way to the present day.  The Archdiocese has released the paperbacks for $14.95. You can purchase your copy at the Archdiocese offices (225 Cordova St.), St. Paul’s Corner Bookstore at Holy Family Cathedral, online at   https://www.archdioceseofanchorage.org/50th-anniversary-book/ or by calling Laurie Evans-Dinneen, at (907) 297-7789 ([email protected]).

Due to your thoughtfulness, Lumen Christi will continue to be able to offer a solid Catholic education in a Christ-like environment.
