Please pray for them daily that the gifts they receive from the Holy Spirit will guide them into a deeper relationship with our Lord so that they may be His force in the world for good.

St. Patrick’s Thrift Shop needs a few more volunteers!

The shop is open for business Tuesday through Saturday and volunteers work 2, 3, or 4-hour shifts

depending on the day.

Volunteers also work on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday to sort, price, and display donated items.

Scheduling is flexible . . . some volunteers work

once a week, some once a month, and some on call.

Join Catholic Charities in providing holiday cheer to those in need. A holiday card means so much for the single moms, seniors, formerly homeless families, and chronically ill adults served by Catholic Charities, who often do not have family or friends reaching out to them during the holidays. - Let’s Party! Help Catholic Charities families and vulnerable adult residents celebrate the holiday season. Lend a hand at one of our Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year’s Eve parties at several locations throughout San Francisco. Most opportunities are for three hour shifts between the hours of 11 am to 8 pm. May include decorating, craft making, room set up, food preparation, clean up and socializing. - Keep developing minds busy Help with Thanksgiving and Christmas break activities at our after-school sites in East Palo Alto and San Rafael. - Provide Thanksgiving Dinner ingredients (and sweets and desserts) for families and individuals served by one of Catholic Charities programs. - Pass the Produce – help build healthy eating habits, distribute groceries to families and seniors. Sort and set up food, and hand out to clients. Thursdays 11:30-2:30 at 10th and Mission Housing. Sign up required to participate.

This collection supports programs to empower people to identify and address the obstacles they face as they work to bring permanent and positive change to their communities. The contemplative life is a way to see ourselves through the gaze of the Sacred. God loves us and does not reject us or judge us for our mistakes. The contemplative path and meditation help us to let go of our negative self-image and self-judgment get to the ground of our divine nature.

An inspirational speaker, Bishop Blaire has planned a reflection on accompaniment at the end of life from a Catholic perspective. His presentation will be a thought-provoking one for those who are reflecting on their own end of life as well as for those who are accompanying others, or foresee a time they will be. Bishop Blaire is a native Californian, born the twelfth of fourteen children. He was ordained a priest in 1967 and was a Catholic school teacher and administrator in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. He was ordained a bishop in 1990 and served the Diocese of Stockton for nineteen years until his recent retirement. Bishop Blaire is currently a member of the Whole Person Care Leadership Council in Torrance.

To honor our men and women in uniform… Past, present and future

I am happy to report that the renovation of our King Street property which is currently being leased by Homeward Bound of Marin is nearing completion. Several parishioners have asked if they could donate items and supplies for the new residence. To help make sure that our new neighbors are warmly welcomed into an inviting home, there has been an on-line registry set up for people to donate items that are actually needed to complete the renovation. Please feel free to visit the site and consider fulfilling one of the needs listed.

On December 16, at 4:00 P.M. our parish will host the annual "Lessons & Carols" featuring our wonderful and talented adult choir. As in years past, they will sing us into the Christmas season with beautiful music and readings. At that concert, there will be a free-will offering taken and all proceeds will be donated to King Street Senior Housing.

Also, at a day and time prior to the "Lessons & Carols" concert on December 16th, I hope to offer an open house so that you may tour the newly renovated home prior to our first neighbors moving in. Stay tuned for more details about the open house.

As we prepare to embark on the upcoming special time of year, how wonderful it is that we are able to help house seniors who are in need of a wonderful place to live. And how wonderful it is that Saint Patrick faith community is so willing and eager to share with our new neighbors some of the blessings God has given to us.
