Knock Basilica and other cathedrals will be lit up in red in memory of the estimated one million Christians martyred since the year 2000. Up to 200 million Christians live under some type of persecution where to bless oneself in public could be a death sentence. We can participate by offering prayers and perhaps wearing an article of red clothing on this day.
