Then disaster strikes, we don’t get the result that was intended or an un-foreseen problem arises. Many times we may respond negatively and ask, “Why me? Each year we provide $200 Scholarships to those seniors who have met the requirements of Youth Ministry attend-ance for the last two years. This year we have 27 recipients (24 from St. Michael’s and 3 from Sts. Cyril & Methodius). We are asking for your support in helping provide these scholarships. Please contact the Parish Office (979) 793-4477 if you can donate one or more of these scholarships. To date we have 6 students left that need sponsors.
Youth Ministry Senior Scholarships
Dear Parishioners of St. Michael’s and Sts. Cyril & Methodius,
Our Mass Schedule for each Parish has been updated based on last week’s attendance numbers. Masses will increase as the need arises. St. Michael’s: Saturday at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at 7:00 a.m. The 10:00 a.m. Mass has been cancelled for now Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. Thursday & Friday at 8:00 a.m. Sts. Cyril & Methodius: The Saturday 7:00 p.m. Mass has been cancelled Sunday at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at 8:00 a.m.
Seating will be on a first come, first served basis so PLEASE do not be offended if you are turned away because we have met our capacity. Each parish can accommodate 100 people (adhering to the 25% mandated). Entrance doors will open 30 minutes prior to Mass time.
• Only one entrance will be open (St. Michael’s: the side door with ramp, Sts. Cyril & Methodius: the front main door on the right).
• For ages 10 and up, face coverings are required for the dura-tion of Mass and if you attend Confession. Face coverings or masks must cover the mouth and nose.
• You will be able to place your weekly gift in a basket as you enter and exit the Church. We strongly encourage online giving.
• Holy Communion will be distributed in the hand only by the priest at the end of Mass. If you are unable to walk to the front for communion, please remain seated and Father will come to you.
• Private prayer is not allowed after Masses to allow for the Church to be disinfected before the next Mass. Please DO NOT congregate outside but head directly to your vehicle.
Those of you who are at a higher risk due to age or immune sys-tem vulnerabilities or are living with people with such risks are strongly encouraged to stay home. Parishioners who are ill or living with people who are ill MUST stay home. It is for every-one’s safety. Remember, we are not out of danger. If you can-not comply with these limitations, please stay home.

Old Hardwood Flooring Available for Keepsake As you know the renovations to the Sts. Cyril & Methodius “Old Church” are underway. It is sad that we could not save the old hardwood flooring. As a memorial or if you would like a piece of the original flooring to make a keepsake, please call Rich Mills at (979) 345-6710. We have salvaged some of the wood for this purpose.

VBS CANCELLED In light of the present circumstances and the
uncertainty that persists, the decision has been made to cancel VBS for this summer. This
decision was a difficult one to make, but with the continued concern over large gatherings and, frankly, a growing concern over parish
resources, this decision was necessary. Be assured that Rocky Railway will be geared up and ready to roll down the tracks in the
summer of 2021.

The Archdiocesan Youth Conference (AYC) gathers over 2,500 participants - both youth and adults - from all over the local Church. AYC is the largest evangelizing event for older adolescents that the Office of Adolescent Catechesis and Evangelization hosts annually. KC Family Game Night & Raffle The St. Michael’s Knights of Columbus in Needville has resched-uled its May 1st drawing again. The new date is Friday, June 19th. Hopefully by then people will feel free to move around in the community. The drawing consists of a John Deere 0-turn 48” mower, Weekend vacation packages, Full day fishing trips for 4, Quail, Chukar and Pheasant Hunt in Blessing and a weekend house (sleeps 10) on Sawmill Road next to Brazos Bend State Park. Any $20 Raffle Ticket holders get to enjoy a free meal the night of the drawing, along with a homemade sausage contest, 50/50 Raffle, and a live auction with homemade items only such as wine, pastry, woodworking, arts and crafts, etc. Tickets are available at Stavinoha Tire in Fairchilds, Robert’s Garage, Sbrusch Insurance, Needville Insurance and Needville KC Members. Wow! Can you believe all of the crazy things going on in our world? I hope everyone is doing O.K. in spite of it. We are having our bazaar in less than 5 months or are we? I think the final decision cannot be made until we are somewhat back to normal and that decision will need to be made by the congregation. I do not know how many members of our parish have been affected by the coronavirus and to what extent. For right now, we will put the bazaar on pause. We will not proceed with the raffle at this time. I want you to continue to prepare for the bazaar in some way — purchasing items that are a great deal for the different booths and auctions, making crafts for the Homemaker’s Mart, and such. When we are able to get together again, WE will have a meeting so WE can make the final determination based on what restrictions might still be in place and our parish situation. Hello to all my Needville Knights of Columbus #7067 Brothers,
It has been a few months since I have been able to send a Coun-cil Newsletter. I am still new at this and with a lot of help from Mr. R.J., I think I can get through this. I hope all are doing well and staying away from COVID-19. Our Council has had a great Lenten season frying fish for our great town of Needville and surrounding areas. They have sup-ported us through all the sickness each fish fry Friday. Through seven Fridays we have sold over 5000 plates and this last Friday we sold almost 900 plates. What a great town to live in and have so many good people to work the Fish Frys. We are going to continue to cook a meal every 2nd Friday of each month. The next one will be Friday, June 12th. Serving is from 5:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m. Thanks to all our hard workers, men and women, who prepare, fry, plate, sell tickets and serve on Fish Fry Fridays. We could not do this without them. Also, a special thank you to the M&M Playboys for entertaining our car line with their great Polka Music! This will be all for now on this crazy internet that I am having to use. One last thing. I finally got Mr. Stewart his Knight of the Year shirt. Thank you, Mr. Stewart for all your hard work! So sorry for the delay in getting you the shirt. Love ya’ll.
