BELLEVUE FOOD PANTRY
The Bellevue Food Pantry is still in need of your
generous donations to help those who are in real need.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH
They are in desperate need at the OPEN DOOR
MISSION of new under garments for men: sizes large
and bigger, as well as new socks (tube socks work the
best). Donations may be placed in the blue bins in the
commons. Thank you for your support.
DINE OUT TO END HUNGER
Enjoy an all you can eat spaghetti dinner while
supporting the Heartland’s hungry and homeless.

ARCHBISHOP’S ANNUAL APPEAL
“Receive the Gift.” The Archbishop’s Annual Appeal is
every Catholic’s opportunity within the Archdiocese of
Omaha to share in the work of the archdiocese and the
mission of the Church. Our parish has currently
committed $5,244 (18.5%) towards our goal of
$28,391.47. Please prayerfully consider a contribution
to help us reach our goal. We are one through our
baptism into Christ, and therefore, one with the
archbishop and his ministry.
HOMEBOUND COMMUNION
If you are interested in administering Holy Eucharist to
our homebound parishioners, please contact Phil

Communion Service is offered Monday through Friday
at 7:00 am in the chapel.

Knights of Columbus: Planning meeting is
the first Monday each month; General
Membership meeting is the third Monday each
month. Meetings are at 7:00 pm in the lower
level of the parish office. All Knights are invited and
welcome to attend both meetings.

Safe Haven needs for October: Halloween
accessories such as hats, make-up, jewelry,
glasses, wigs, costumes and masks, popcorn,
hair dryers, alarm clocks, light bulbs, canned soup, baby
wipes, heating pads, foil, plastic wrap, baggies of all sizes,
and cold and flu medicines.
Please note there is no delivery service available for
large items. Please see the flyer on the WWG table. It
contains a comprehensive list of accepted items by the
donation center. Children's books are accepted, but no
others. Thank you!

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

SUNDAY ADULT FAITH FORMATION
Study #1: Psalms: The School of Prayer. Meets 3 to
4:30pm. Psalms reveals Israel's response to God's covenant
offer and serves as a model for our response to Him. Our
communication with God is enhanced by a deeper
understanding of the book of Psalms and of the individual
psalms that reside in each of our hearts. 10-Sessions.
Study #2: A Journey through Church History. Meets 5 to
6:30pm. A 20-part DVD series which takes you through the
major people, places, and events that make up the history of
the Catholic Church.
Free pizza and “refreshments” at all studies. All groups meet
in the 8th grade class room here at St Matthew’s. Sign up lists
are on the Knight’s table in the Commons or contact Rick

SAFE ENVIRONMENT TRAINING
INITIAL TRAINING: This certification must be active for all
who have regular contact with children and youth. An
example, but not complete list, would be anyone involved in
the school: lunch room volunteers, paras, library helpers,
PTO, room parents, field trip chaperones, teachers. In the
parish: coaches, assistant coaches, RF/CCD teachers and
assistants, Girl Scout leaders and parent helpers, Boy Scout
leaders and parent helpers, vacation bible school leaders.
(This is in no way a complete listing.) If you are planning to
participate in any of these events or other events involving
children, please make sure you have received your training at
least 30 days prior to the event. Once complete, your training
is valid for 5 years.

RE-CERTIFICATION: For those who have been trained
previously. You can renew your Safe Environment status on-
line. This on-line program was set up so individuals can
complete the training at home at their convenience.

GROSS HIGH SCHOOL OCTOBER FEST
Come out and support the Gross Catholic HS Wrestling and
Volleyball teams on Saturday, Oct 10th, 6-11:30pm. Enjoy
Polka music, 50/50 Raffles, games, Brats and snacks. No
need to register, $25.00 at the door covers all you can eat and
drink.
ANNULMENT SEMINAR
This seminar will be held October 8 at St. Wenceslaus Church,
Omaha NE, 6:30 p.m. Deacon Ron Ryan from the Omaha
Archdiocese Tribunal Office will talk about Canon Law and
the theological reasons for obtaining an annulment. Time will
be available for questions and answers about the annulment

PRAYER SERVICE

on this world. National Pregnancy and Infant Loss
Remembrance Day is on Wednesday October 14, 2015. A

MARCH FOR LIFE PILGRIMAGE JAN 2016
Register for the March for Life 2016 from September 1 –
November 16. This pilgrimage will take you to holy and
historical sites in Washington, DC as well as give you the
opportunity to defend the right to life. High school youth and
adults wishing to chaperone can register by visiting

BEGINNING EXPERIENCE (BE)
WEEKEND RETREAT
A Beginning Experience (BE) Weekend retreat for the
widowed, separated and divorced is planned for October 23-25
at the Archdioceses Retreat Center, 3330 North 60 Street,
Omaha. The weekend begins Friday evening at 7:00 and ends
Sunday afternoon at 4:00. Cost is $100.00 to $125 [semi-

MASS FOR VOCATIONS
Mass for Vocations will be held Tuesday, October 13 at
6:00pm at St. Cecelia’s Cathedral, in honor of canonization of
Saint Junipero Serra. Archbishop Lucas will preside, with
chaplains of the Serra Clubs concelebrating along with priests
form the Archdiocese of Omaha. Dessert reception will
follow in the Cathdreal Center.
40 DAYS FOR LIFE
From September 23 through November 1, you’re invited to
join other Christians for 40 Days for Life – 40 days of prayer
and fasting for an end to abortion. You’re also invited to stand
and peacefully pray during a 40-day vigil in the public right-
of-way outside Planned Parenthood (3105 N 93rd St, Omaha)
and the Abortion and Contraception Clinic of Nebraska (1002
West Mission Ave, Bellevue), and also to help spread the
word about this important community outreach. If you’d like
