Liturgical Ministers
Dear friends in Christ,
Please see the message below from Archbishop Jackels about a new Archdiocesan appeal. I consulted
with the Pastoral Councils from both St. Patrick and the North Linn Cluster last week regarding what time
frame we would choose to participate actively in the appeal. We will be doing so sometime in 2021--a
long way off! However, you can already begin to learn more about the appeal and its spiritual benefits in
the website Archbishop mentions. Enjoy! Fr. Nick
*******************
In response to real needs, and after broad consultation, as well as much work, I am happy to announce
the start of a special appeal, which we are calling ArchdioceseOne, to help the poor and to support the
mission of the Church.
As the special appeal unfolds, each of us will be invited to help secure the future for mission-related
needs: to financially support retired priests; to educate future priests, our seminarians; to make much-
needed repairs to the Cathedral of St. Raphael; and to provide more legal services for immigrants, which
has been identified as the greatest need for the poor in our midst.
And we’re hoping that when we each do our part our special appeal will produce spiritual benefits as well, for example:
to strengthen unity in our Archdiocese; to deepen our practice of stewardship as a way of life; and to heal the Church with
the medicine of charity.
I invite you to go to the website www.ArchdioceseOne.org to watch a video prepared to introduce you to our special
appeal.
As a beggar for the Lord, I am asking all of us, please, to support our special appeal with a sacrificial gift, and to pray for
its success. We can’t hope for its material and spiritual success unless this holy work is begun with God’s inspiration and
carried out by God’s help. Towards that end, as the official prayer for our special appeal, ArchdioceseOne, we pray: God,
come to our assistance; Lord, make haste to help us.
God bless you.
Thank you, Archbishop Michael Jackels

Any memorial decorations on the stones, in containers on the stones, or hanging on shepherd hooks will not be disturbed.

nate formation process for the Archdiocese of Dubu-

Fall Festival Country Store Update It is that time again when we all come together to make the fall festival a big event! Please consider help-ing us with the following items:
Homemade-Baked Items: Examples; Homemade Breads, Banana, Pumpkin and Strawberry Bread, etc... (Mini loafs sell really well, but regular size is fine)pumpkin bars, brownies, rice crispy treats, & cookies.
Canned Goods: Examples; Beets, Sauerkraut, salsa, stewed tomatoes, peaches, jellies, jams, and ap-plesauce. Pint sizes sell best, but quart sizes work too.
Crafts and miscellaneous items: Seasonal Fall Items, tiny pumpkins, gourds, farm and harvest decorations, homemade crafts, gently used children’s books or adult cook books, or some St. Patrick’s memorabilia that you may want to pass on to someone else.
Please bring your items to the Church Rectory during their weekly hours, 9am to 3pm, Monday through Friday, or to the Lawrence Comm. Center Saturday night, Oct. 12th after 4pm church, or Sunday, the 13th, between 8am and noon.
Baked goods and canned goods will be priced by the country store workers. Other items can be priced by the parishioners, as they may have an idea what they think we should sell it for. If no price tag is found, then we will price them for you! Thank you for your gener-osity, time, talent, and treasure as we continue to work together!! If you have any questions, or want to work at the country store, call Cori at 319-480-5918. I will be calling workers this weekend and next week-end, if I haven’t already!!
