NOTES FROM PAUL...
This past week we celebrated two important Marian Feasts; The Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Dec. 9th and Our Lady of Guadalupe on Dec. 12th. Our Lady of the Immaculate
Conception is actually the Patroness of the United States, and most years her feast day is a Holy Day of Obligation, this year since it fell on a Monday the obligation was lifted. Our Lady of Guadalupe is considered the Patroness of the Americas as well as families and the unborn. As we move closer to Christmas, please join me in praying to Mary that as we celebrate the birth of Christ, that our country and our world finds peace, and hears the message of our Lord. I would also like to thank everyone who participated in the Giving Tree this year. If you haven't gotten your presents back to the Church, please do so ASAP so that we can get the gifts to the families.
Advent Greetings and Salutations,
Today is the third Sunday of Advent, known as Gaudete (Gow-day-tay) Sunday. Gaudete means rejoice. We rejoice because it is gathering close to Christmas: The Lord is near. On this Sunday the liturgical color turns from violet to rose. How are you preparing for the coming of Christ at Christmas?
Have a great week everyone and just for laughs…what does Santa say when he walks backward? Oh, oh, oh! LOL!!! Peace and JOY, Sabrina Queen
Queen’s Quotes from Religious Formation
Thank you to all who have taken a tag. We ask that all gifts be returned to the tree THIS weekend. Gifts should be in gift bags (but unwrapped) with the original tag from the Giving Tree attached somewhere visible. If you like, you can leave the gift receipt in the bag. If you are returning a gift card you can staple/tape the tag to the outside of the envelope.
Thank you for your generous donations.
ROSARY MAKERS GUILD
Do you make Rosaries? Would you like to learn how? If you would be interested in becoming part of a Rosary Makers Guild at St Mary, Cause of Our Joy, contact Paul Z. at [email protected] or 734-425- 4421 ext. 221 for more details.
In today’s Gospel Jesus tells us that the good news can be seen, touched felt and heard through the lives of God’s people. We are now charged to take up the ministry of Jesus’s, but we can’t just ask people to take our word for it; our actions must speak for us.
Since Christmas is a time of love and gift giving, please share in Jesus ministry by giving a gift to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul so that those who are poor can know the good news of Jesus.

Wee Believers Bags are coming to St. Mary, Cause of Our Joy! Soon you will find “Wee Believers” bags in the gathering space of church. We have put these bags together to help your child/children learn and grow in our faith. Each bag has quiet activities that your child may use at Mass. There will be puzzles, books, coloring sheets, small felt boards – all faith based. We will be rotating materials to
keep them “fresh.” When Mass is done, gather up all the pieces and parts and return the bag to the gathering space. If you have any suggestions or comments, please contact us at [email protected] or the Faith Formation office .

Thank you from St. Jude of Detroit Food Pantry
Dear Friends of the St. Jude Food Pantry,
Thank you for your support of the St. Jude Food Pantry in Detroit. We are indeed blessed to receive the food you have donated. Our volunteer staff was amazed at all the Halloween candy you delivered. It will be used to fill the stockings of many children in our area and bring smiles of joy from them on Christmas morning.
We serve over 170 families each month offering them not only food but also hygiene products when available. Your donations have helped so many struggling people in our community.
God bless you for supporting our mission. Remember, everything we do makes a difference in someone's life. Sincerely, St. Jude Food Pantry
