BRAGGING RIGHTS!
O ur parish family congratulates our parishioner, Eileen Costello, as the grand prize
winner in the St. Roch Raffle! Eileen won the $30,000 American Express gift card
first prize at last Saturday evening’s drawing in Greenwich. This is the second year in a row
where a winning ticket has been purchased at St. Marguerite, but this is the first time our
parishioner won the grand prize. Therefore, St. Marguerite officially claims bragging rights when
it comes to winning St. Roch Raffle prizes! We are very pleased for Eileen and her whole family,
and we look forward to next year’s raffle. Who knows? Next year, it could be you!
The other winners include:
$3,000 prize: Sly Pecora, Jr. (St. Roch)
$2,000 prize: Ron Struski (Sacred Heart of Jesus, Danbury)
$1,000 prize: Ingrid Florentin (St. Clement, Stamford)
$1,000 prize: Maryanne & Mike Fatterusso (St. Paul, Greenwich)
$1,000 prize: Luis Mendizabal (St. Peter, Bridgeport)
$1,000 prize: Jean Hughes (St. Paul, Berlin)
$1,000 prize: Donna Bovee (St. Paul, Berlin)
This week, we also met with our architect to look over and comment on the sacristy redesign.
Therefore, plans are definitely going forward to open the Adoration Chapel again for 24 hours.
This process will take several months, and we will update the parish as we move along. The two
statues chosen preliminarily (as long as the measurements and fittings work out) are St. Michael
the Archangel and St. Ann with the young Blessed Virgin Mary standing beside her. Thank you to
everyone who gave their input on the new statues!
Finally, we congratulate Miss Sarah Wolk who is serving for us at the altar for the final time
this weekend. Sarah will be starting college within a few weeks at Marist College. She has been a
faithful, devoted altar server for many years, and she has been a patient teacher and role model
to the new servers who have come through the ranks. Sarah is strong in her Catholic faith and
practice, and we wish her all the best along with our prayers for a wonderful and successful
college experience. Of course, we will see her again during her family visits back to Brookfield!
