Several Guest speakers. All welcome STEWARDSHIP PROGRAM 2017 (PLANNED GIVING) The renewal of our Parish Stewardship Program is due this year and will com- mence on the weekend of July 15 th & 16 th . Our actual Pledging Sunday will be held the 5 th & 6 th of August. Please try to be mindful of this date, although people will have a chance to renew their pledge be- fore and after this weekend. It is three years since our last Program, and I sincerely thank all those Parishion- ers who continue to financially support the ongoing costs of Parish Administra- tion and Pastoral Development. This is the first time that we will enter into a Program together on a regional level. Although each of our Sunraysia Parishes is responsible for its own financial sup- port and upkeep, we will begin this new Program together. Consequently, we are able to share some of the resources as well as costs incurred. This will greatly reduce the outlays for the two smaller Parishes, without increasing the charge for Sacred Heart Mildura. Some people will be requested to assist as members of the Stewardship Team. The task is not onerous, but it will de- mand a short term commitment over the next month or so. I am not enamored with the administration of Parish finances, and I am extremely grateful to those who as- sist in this duty. However, the steward- ship of the Parish is an important responsibil- ity in which we all share. I ask for your support and backing in this undertaking, and am confident that it will be forthcoming. Fr. Michael McKinnon BAPTISM We welcome into our Parish Community NATE GREG FINCHER child of Dylan & Alexandra whose Baptism occurs today. Friday, June 23 is the Feast of the Sacred Heart, when the children usually have their Mass for the poor, to which they bring a mountain of groceries. VINNIES' WINTER APPEAL Envelopes are on the seats today for Vinnies' Winter Ap- peal. It goes without saying that the needs of the needy are greater during the cold of Winter. The Trading Table this month will be for Vinnies' Winter Appeal; but don't let that be your only effort. Flags away. I am having 2 trips to my 86 year-old sister Gwen, at Port Macquarie this year. The reason for this first one was to help look after her in her near-blindness. Since she has been cured of this miracu- lously there is no need for this first trip BUT I'm going by plane, and getting the domestic airlines to refund your ticket takes more than a miracle. So I am flying there on Tues- day. Towards the end, I'll be staying with my twin sister Gay, in Manly. I will return here on Friday July 7th. Flags
