Superior Diocese Council of Catholic Women Retreat
The SDCCW is sponsoring a Fall Retreat on Saturday, October
26, 2019, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, in Cameron, WI. The
presenter, Danielle Hendricks, is an energetic young woman
and mother from Rice Lake. She is giving two presentations on
how we as Catholic women are called to live our faith in to-
day’s world and carry out God's Great Commission. Fr. Balaraju
Policetty is providing a time for Reconciliation and is also cele-
brating Mass. The day will be spiritually fulfilling, a day of joy
for celebrating the season of fall and a great way to connect
with other Catholic women in the Diocese of Superior. All
women are invited to attend! The cost for the retreat is
$20.00 and includes lunch. Registration forms are available
in the parish office.

Coming Events
Monday, September 23, our parish office will be closed. We
apologize for any inconvenience.
ALTAR SERVERS—Deacon Brian will be training young
parishioners to be altar servers here at St. Ann. If your
children would like to take advantage of this opportunity to
both serve and grow in faith, please let Deacon Brian know.
FYI, St. Joe’s is hosting training for altar servers on Sunday,
October 6. This will be a great opportunity for youngsters
from St. Ann to join with those at our sister parish to learn
some of the basics of altar serving. This training is optional
for St. Ann students, but if you are able to, Deacon Brian
encourages you and your children to attend. It will be right
after the 10:15 Mass in Hayward and should last 1 to 1.5
hours. Deacon Brian will be there, because bribes are being
provided—rumor has it that they’re serving pizza and ice
cream to all attendees!
CHOIR QUEST—We are seriously seeking supplementary
singers for our St. Ann Choir. We know there are good
singers out there—our visitors tell us all the time how
impressed they are by our parishioners’ pipes! So consider
stepping up and joining the choir. You don’t have to be
another Pavarotti or Adele, as long as you can carry a tune.
Requirements for new members are minimal—a decent
voice, an ability to commit to 2-3 hours a week (half for
practice, half for Mass itself), and a willingness to announce
and lead the practiced hymns at Mass on the few Sundays
and Holy Days when Ursula and Roman have commitments
elsewhere. If interested, contact Ursula and Roman at (715)
798-5117.
Cable Area Food Shelf Volunteers: Anyone who is currently a
volunteer or would like to become one is asked to attend a
brief annual Civil Rights training on Wednesday, Sept. 25,
from 1-2 pm at the UCC Church. For more information on
becoming a volunteer, please call Kerri Nelson at (715) 794-
2302.
Please remember in prayer: Jim Bartz, Jane Benson, Deb Krauss,

mystic and Saint who lost her life in the death camp of Ausch-
witz. Newcomers are welcome to attend. The book is avail-
able at the Weiss Community Library. Call Jean at (715) 934-
