Corpus Christi Sunday – June 2020 “To eat His Body and drink His Blood!”

There is a saying: You are what you eat! And how true these words are when we

speak of partaking of the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus.

In the Gospel this Sunday, the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of

Christ or better known as Corpus Christi we hear the Lord Jesus proclaim:

“"Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink

his blood, you do not have life within you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my

blood has eternal life, “ Thus, when we received the Body of Christ in Holy

Communion, we , ourselves, truly become the Body of Christ.

What have we done to deserve this wonderful gift? Nothing. It is purely out of

God's goodness and His desire to reside in our hearts to be our life that He gave us

this gift. We can only thank Him for it. But more than just a gift, it also becomes a

sacred responsibility for us that we allow ourselves to be transformed into becom-

ing the presence of Christ in our world today. We become more Christ-like in our

words, in our actions, in our dealings with the people and with the world.

If only every Catholic who would receive Jesus in Holy Communion this Sunday

will become what they receive, how different our world will be.

-Fr. Poli

Any crafters out there?

Father Poli is asking for any parishioners who would like to sew cloth masks to donate for parishioners who may need one. It doesn't matter the style or design as long as it properly covers the mouth and

nose.

You may drop off masks directly to Father Poli at the office or at church. Thank you!
