When, for any reason, we cannot participate in Mass, the Church invites us to unite with Christ through this prayer of Spiritual Communion. Praying this prayer is a beautiful way to
unite our hearts to Christ's when we cannot receive him physically in the Eucharist.

Prayer for
Confirmation Candidates
Holy Trinity,
guide and protect the candidates
as they prepare to celebrate the
Sacrament of Confirmation.
Help them to discern
God’s will in their life and
fill them with the
seven gifts of the Holy Spirit
wisdom,
knowledge,
right judgment,
courage,
understanding,
reverence,
wonder
and awe,
to empower them to serve God
as a true disciple through
Your grace and in Your love.
Amen.
The Diocese has announced that they will be
delegating the Sacrament of Confirmation to the
Priests at each parish grouping for the time being.
With all of the current guidelines and restrictions on
large gatherings due to COVID-19, Confirmation will
have to be approached differently this year. Rather
than one of the Bishops coming to do one group
Confirmation, it will be broken down in to smaller
groups of candidates over multiple dates and will be
performed by Fr. Ward. Fr. Ward will be working
with Debi and Laura to plan all of the details and get
Confirmation times scheduled very soon. Stay
tuned for more information in the near future and
continue to pray for our candidates.
Recently many parishioners and employees have been receiving
fraudulent communications that appear to be from Fr. Ward. These
scammers are requesting a favor, in turn they ask for gift cards to be
purchased and the codes sent to them, all while posing as Fr. Ward.
Unfortunately, there isn’t much we or the authorities can do. These
emails or text messages are sent from various email accounts or
phone numbers, the best thing to do is to just immediately delete
anything suspicious you receive. Fr. Ward, Fr. Jim or anyone from any of the parishes will NEVER
solicit funds, in this way, in any form. So please be aware and cautious, and if you ever question a
message from anyone, reach out and check with them directly to be sure. Thank you!
A reminder that all 3 churches now have an online giving option! Signing up is simple and secure. Visit our group website, stsjjmcatholic.org, under the About tab, choose Online Giving at (Location Name), and follow the link on that page. Of course offerings can still be sent in the mail or dropped off in the secure drop boxes located outside each office. Thank you all for continuing to give! God bless you.
Live Streaming Go to: stsjjmcatholic.org and click on the Mass you
want to join. Or, you can go to St. JJM Cabot and it will take you
directly to the YouTube channel. Reminder: The livestream is now at 11am

St. Mary Picnic and Ultimate Sports Raffle Update
While it was a difficult decision, St. Mary Church
mailed letters to our parishioners announcing the
cancellation of our annual Picnic and Ultimate Sports
Raffle and asking for a donation in lieu of holding the
two fundraisers in 2020. So far we have raised
$8,355.00 with your generous donations. We thank
all who have donated and appreciate your support to
our church and parish family. We will keep you
updated as additional donations are received.

As we welcome parishioners back to Masses, we appreciate your patience and cooperation. The
best way for us to keep the number of attendees within the guidelines is to have those who wish to
attend a weekend Mass sign up for that Mass. You can find the link to the Sign Up Genius page on
our grouping website, stsjjmcatholic.org, or go directly to
https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050D4DA9AF29A7FF2-july
If you are unable to do this, or encounter problems, call your parish office and
we can sign you up. Please sign up for weekend Masses by the Thursday prior
if possible. We ask that you comply with all of the posted guidelines. You will
need to sanitize your hands and wear a face mask. We ask that you follow the
seating and traffic flow patterns as designated and directed by ushers and
celebrants. Remember there is no obligation to attend Mass. If you are over 65,
have underlying health concerns, or cannot wear a mask, you
This year marks the 25th anniversary of Pope St. John Paul’s encyclical
“The Gospel of Life” (Evangelium Vitae).
Recently, Pope Francis confirmed that now, “the message of Evangelium vitae is more relevant than before”.
It is a matter of acting on a cultural and educational level in order to transmit an attitude of solidarity, caring and welcome to future generations, knowing that the culture of life is not the
exclusive patrimony of Christians. It belongs to all those who, working to build fraternal relationships, recognise the value of
each individual person, even when he or she is fragile and suffering.
St. John Paul's encyclical on the dignity of human life, he added, is "timelier than ever" not only in its defense of life but also in its call to pass on "an attitude of solidarity, care and
acceptance" to future generations. He then proclaimed, "Therefore, with St. John Paul II, I reaffirm with renewed conviction the appeal he addressed to everyone 25 years ago:
'Respect, defend, love and serve life, every life, every human life! Only on this path will you find justice, development, freedom, peace and happiness!'"
Below is an excerpt to reflect on this week.
From the “Gospel of Life” #22
By living “as if God did not exist”, man not only loses sight of the
mystery of God, but also of the mystery of the world and the mystery of
his own being. -Pope St John Paul II
