OUR PARISH BULLETIN IS ONE OF OUR MAIN

COMMUNICATION TOOLS TO OUR PARISH

MEMBERS. It provides inspirational words

from Father, Mass intentions, news, and

events for the week ahead. We are thankful

that this crucial communication piece is

provided to our parish at no cost thanks to

the generous advertising support of our

parishioners and community-minded busi-

nesses. Please let us know if you can help.

Sponsors of our bulletin recognize the tre-

mendous value of connecting with our

Church family, who in turn respond by sup-

porting our sponsors! If you would like to ad-

vertise in the weekly bulletin, please contact

Victor Verbiest at 973-634-0586, or via e-mail

to [email protected]. Thank you!

Thank You!!!!!!!!

My sincere thanks goes out to Drew Dowdell, George Matisick, and Walt Hayes for the many hours they spent scraping the old paint off of the fence in front of the church, replacing the three posts, spraying bleach on the fence to kill the mold, and then painting the fence, light posts and sign. They did an outstanding job and I really appreciate all their initiative and hard work to keep our church looking beautiful.

Most Gratefully,

Fr. Rob

Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam

For the greater glory of God...

Dear Parish Family,

On Saturday, May 12th, ten of our second graders received their First Holy Communion. Today, we welcome them to the Eucharistic Banquet for the very first time on the Lord’s Day. I am grateful to all the parents of these young children, the first teachers and role models of their children in the ways of the faith, and to their school teachers and dedicated catechists who brought them to this day. I also want to thank our Director of Religious Education, Paula McLeod, for her leadership in coordinating our parish religious education program. It is always a joy for me to celebrate this sacrament for our boys and girls. They are so eager to receive Our Lord in the Eucharist for the first time. There’s a true story about Napoleon Bonaparte, that when he was at the pinnacle of his fame, one of his generals asked what had been the happiest day of his life. Napolean answered, “The day of my First Holy Communion was the happiest day of my life, for then I was brought nearest to God.” My prayer is that our second graders will continue to approach Jesus in the Holy Eucharist, with the same love and devotion as they today, for the rest of their lives. Today, Mother’s Day, we remember and honor all of our mothers and grandmothers, great-grandmothers and godmothers – living and deceased. No greater example exists of God’s unconditional love for all His children than that expressed through the vocation of motherhood. May Our Lord continue to bless them with His abundant grace, now and forever! Peace and blessings,

Fr. Rob
