St Dominic’s College HSC High Achievers 2017
Congratulations to our Year 12 students on their outstanding results in the 2017 HSC. This particular cohort have been instrumental in rewriting many parts of the College’s record books for their academic, artistic, cultural and sporting achievements. I would like to acknowledge the great efforts and commitment of teachers in helping all our young men achieve their personal best.
The HSC is a very demanding experience and the partnership between staff, students and families has been crucial in guiding our sons throughout the journey, especially with their differing abilities and interests. The Graduating Class of 2017 have demonstrated that, with a consistent and committed approach to their studies, students from St Dominic’s can achieve anything. I am very confident that through their experience of being a member of St Dominic’s College these fine gentlemen will make a difference to our common world. Outstanding achievement, Well done!

Jordan ChiaMusic 2
Caoirne WardMusic 1
ENCORE is a concert that takes place every year at the Sydney Opera House, showcasing the top HSC Music performances in NSW from the previous HSC school year. To receive a nomination means that a student must have received close to, if not 100% in all of their HSC Music performances.
In the 2017 HSC school year both Caoirne Ward (Music 1) and Jordan Chia (Music 2) were nominated. The selection for the final ENCORE showcase was made based not on their performance ability, but on specific criteria such as repertoire, genre and instrument. Unfortunately neither Caoirne or Jordan were selected to perform in the showcase, but this was not an indication of their performance ability. They are both still considered amongst the top HSC Music performers in the state for 2017.
As a HSC Music student, being nominated for ENCORE is the highest and most prestigious result in which a performer can achieve.
