Dear brothers and sisters,

Easter Sunday is finally here. After 40 long days of Lent, the moment to celebratehas arrived.

What are we celebrating today? We're celebrating something so profound and somysterious that it's crucial to stop and think about it.

We are celebrating a man, Jesus Christ, Son of God, who came into the world todie for us, to take the punishment we deserved for the Original Sin that separatedus from Him. He did this on Good Friday. On the third day, of His own power andHis own will, raised Himself from the dead, as He promised He would. And inraising himself from the dead he made another promise--that He would raise usfrom the dead too.

It's a mystery that's too incredible for words. Because of Easter Sunday, there willalways be hope in the world, no matter how dark things get. Jesus rose from thedead, and His victory over death is final. And because He promised to raise usfrom the dead and share in His victory over death, we no longer have anything inlife to fear.

We may never fully understand the mystery of Easter fully while on this earth, butwe can be thankful for our Catholic faith.

On this Easter Sunday, can we all stop and pray for those who have no faith at all,or whose faith is weak. Our prayers, with the help of the Holy Spirit, will bring themhome.

God bless you and Happy Easter!!!

Fr. DeStefano
