Brief Information The Electronic Index Smart Gas Meter forms an integral part of Elster's AMI solution which manages data from Smart Electricity, Gas and Water meters. Elster's solution includes MDMS and Head End applications to meet individual utility requirements. A range of secure communications solutions ensure reliable 2-way transfer of information to each metering device.

The Electronic Index Smart Gas Meter offers a modular solution for HAN communication options. This ensures a future proof solution for the utility should the choice of communications technology change. Elster have developed a secure wireless ZigBee Smart Energy interface for UK market requirements, whilst also offering alternative communications links such as Mbus, Wavenis and GSM/GPRS for alternative markets. The Electronic Index Smart Gas Meter has been designed with the UK market in mind, meeting requirements of the Smart Metering Government prospectus – March 2011. In particular offering 3 months of 30 minutes load profile data and time of use and block tariff capabilities. Communication protocols conform to SSWG specifications providing full privacy protected change of tenancy and change of supply Elster can offer a combination of differing features to meet specific customer needs. The product also has a continuous development programme to ensure it meets DECC Smart metering specifications.
