On Saturday, May 18, 2013, Archbishop Chaput ordained three new priests for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Two of these priests have a connection with Sts. Peter and Paul Parish. Rev. Sean Loomis served in our parish as an Acolyte during his for-mation at the seminary. He assisted at Mass, worked with the school children, brought Eucharist to the home-bound, and participated in the RCIA process among other activities. Rev. John Stokley and his parents lived in our parish for several years. While in the seminary he spoke sev-eral times at all weekend masses on behalf of the annual seminary collection. We con-gratulate these new priests and their fami-lies and offer our prayers and best wishes for successful and prayerful ministry to God’s people.

Fr. Whelan:

Please continue to keep Fr. Whelan in your prayers. Because of his ongoing health concerns, Archbishop Charles Chaput has granted Fr. Whelan health leave status. Fr. Whelan will be leaving our par-ish in order to reside at Villa St. Joseph, Darby, where he has been staying for the last two months. Fr. Whe-lan recently celebrated the 40th Anniversary of his ordi-nation to the priesthood. If you would like to send Fr. Whelan a note or card, his address is on the table in the Narthex. Our prayers and best wishes go with you Fr. Whelan!

Fr. James C. Rodia, O. Praem.: Archbishop Charles Chaput has appointed Fr. James Rodia, O. Praem., Parochial Vicar, Saints Peter & Paul Parish, West Chester, effective July 1, 2013. Fr. Rodia has been serving as Parochial Vicar, Saint Monica Parish, Philadelphia. Fr. Rodia, who is a Norbertine priest, will serve our parish but reside at Dayleford Abby in Paoli. We look forward to welcoming you, Fr. Rodia!

Deacon Lou Libbi: A member of our Parish, Lou Libbi, was ordained to the Diaconate by Archbishop Charles Chaput at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter & Paul on June 1. Archbishop Chaput has appointed Deacon Libbi to minister as a Permanent Deacon at Saints Peter & Paul Parish. Congratulations Deacon Libbi! We look forward to your service!

Mr. Joseph Zaleski: Joseph Zaleski, a seminarian studying for the priest-hood for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia at Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary, arrived at our parish on June 1 for his summer internship. Joe is a member of St. Martin of Tours Parish, Philadelphia, where his Father serves as a Permanent Deacon. Hopefully Joe will be ordained a deacon next Spring. Joe’s summer internship will conclude on August 4, but we anticipate that he will continue to come to our parish for his Thursday field education assignment during the school year. Joe will assist at Mass, help train the Al-tar Servers, help coordinate visits to the elderly and infirm by the priests and Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, as well as take Holy Communion to the elderly and infirm himself. Welcome Joe!
