The main duty of the IQAC is to create and develop a quality system

for consistent and con�nuous improvement in the overall

performance of ins�tu�on and achieve the holis�c academic

SSIT-Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), ini�ate, plan and

supervise various ac�vi�es that are necessary to improve the

quality of the educa�on imparted in the ins�tu�on by maintaining

quality standards in teaching, learning and evalua�on. SSIT-IQAC,

ac�ng as a nodal agency, has developed, organized, monitored, and

documented the various Quality promo�ons of the ins�tu�on

during the year 2018.

Under the guidance and initiative of IQAC the following activities

Ÿ A 6-day workshop on "Electronic Design & Embedded System"

was conducted by in association with Stigmata Techno

Solutions from17th to 22nd July 2017.

Ÿ III year & IV year students visited Satish Dhawan Space Research

Centre, SriHarikota during the current semester.

Ÿ A Guest lecture on "Signal Processing in Telecommunication"

was arranged by the department. D.Venkatachalam, IES, B.E,

MBA, DLB, Cheif Signal and Telecom Engineer (Construction),

North Southern Railway, Chennai, delivered the lecture on 4th

August 2017.

Ÿ An Awareness Programme on “Higher studies in Foreign

Universities" was organized on 5th January 2018. Our Alumni

Mr.S.Karthik (2012-2016 batch) enlightened the students about

the prospects of higher education at universities abroad.

Ÿ Conducted a Guest Lecture on "Robotics awareness program" on

30th January 2018 for the benefit of II year ECE students. Mr.

A.Parthiban, Senior Product Analyst and Business Development

Executive, IIT Madras Research Park delivered the lecture.

Ÿ IETE sponsored 2-day workshop was conducted on "ORCAD &

PSPICE" by LIVEWARE, Tambaram, Chennai, on 19th and 20th

January 2018.

Ÿ Conducted a 2- day workshop on "IOT & PYTHON" which was

inaugurated by Mr.Ganapathy, Product Analyst, EPR Labs,

Chennai & Mr.Karthikeyan, Research Associate, EPR Labs,

Chennai on 24th and 25th January 2018.

Ÿ A National Conference was conducted on “Advanced Research

and Innovations in Information Communication Engineering

ARIC18” on 7th March 2018. Mr.P.V.Karunanithi, MBA, FIE, ITS,

and The General manager (NWP-CFA), Tamil Nadu Telecom

Circle, Chennai inaugurated the conference and delivered a

special lecture

· A three-day Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp was

organised from 25th September 2017 to 27th September 2017

sponsored by National S&T Entrepreneurship Development Board

(NSTEDB). Mr. M.Narayanan, Chief Manager, Central Bank of India,

Pallavaram Branch inaugurated the camp and delivered the special

address.

· In association with Pantech solutions, arranged a 2-day

workshop on “Design of Controllers using ARM7 and Raspberry pi”

on 29th August 2017 and 30th August 2017.

· The 9th National Level Technical Symposium was

organized on 24th August 2017. Dr. C.Sethuraman, Principal,

Scientist, CSIR was the chief guest for the symposium.

· Mr. P.Karthik Venkatesh, Signals &Systems, (India) Pvt.,

Ltd., SIPCOT, IT Park, Siruseri, delivered a Guest Lecture on the

topic, “Internet of Things and Big data" on 17th August 2017.

· A Safety Club was inaugurated on 11th August 2017 by Mr.

T.Selva Kumar, Process Safety Consultant and a Photography Club

was inaugurated on 7th August 2017 by Thiru. N.R.Vijayakumar,

Assistant Director, Kollywood.

· Mr.A.Krishna Kumar, Senior Software Analyst, Accenture

delivered a guest lecture on "IT Web services" on 19th July 2017.

· Mr.S.Thamaraiselvam, Associate Manager, INAUTIX

technologies India Pvt. Ltd. delivered a Guest Lecture on

"Database Security" on 12th September 2017.

· A workshop on “MVC Paradigm” was conducted by the

department from 7th to 12th August 2017. Mr.Naveen Kumar,

Team leader, Accenture Solutions India Pvt., Ltd., and Mr.Gokul

Dharuman, solution architect, Tech Mahindra were invited as chief

guests for the workshop.

Ÿ II Year students went for an Industrial Visit to SHAR-Sriharikota on 23rd

January 2018.

Ÿ In association with Computer Society of India organized a seminar on

“Data Science” on 25th January 2018. Mr.Karthikeyan Sivasubramanian,

SVP Business Analytics Consulting and Mentoring presented the

seminar.

Ÿ The III Year students went for an Industrial Visit to BSNL,

Maraimalainagar on 30th January 2018.

Ÿ In association with Computer Society of India organized a seminar on

“RASPBERRY PI and IOT” on 23rd January 2018. Mr. R. Purushothaman,

EPR Labs, Chennai was the chief guest who inaugurated the seminar and

delivered a lecture.

Ÿ In association with Computer Society of India organized an 8-day

workshop on "Java Fundamentals” in two slots “from 22nd to 25th

January 2018 & from 12th to 15th February 2018. Slot I of the workshop

was inaugurated by Mr. Prabhu Chakrapani, Team Leader, IIT Madras,

Research Park and slot II was presided over by Mr. Pranesh Gopalan,

Software engineer, IIT Madras Research Park.

Ÿ Students participated in “The New India Student Championship -2018”

a 24 hrs LEARNATHON Contest powered by sales force in association

with ICT academy from 2nd February 2018 to 3rd February 2018 and

were awarded as Excellent Contributor.

Ÿ Organized a guest lecture on Mobile computing on 23rd February2018.

Dr.G.Rajesh, Professor, MIT, delivered the lecture.

Ÿ Oracle academy student day Webinar was held on 26th February 2018.

Ÿ A one day FACULTY TECH workshop was organized on REDHAT (OPEN

SOURCE) TECHNOLOGY & INDUSTRY ADAPTATION on 2nd March

2018. Ms. Sameera, Veltra Tech was the special guest for the function.

Ÿ Mr.A.Krishna Kumar, Senior Software Analyst, Accenture delivered a

guest lecture on "IT Web services" on 19th July 2017.

l A Guest Lecture on “Data mining tools” was delivered by

Mr.G.Naresh Kumar, Senior associate project, CTS, Chennai on

6th July 2017. Another lecture on “Advanced DATABASEs” by

Mr.V.Sasikumar, Project Manager, Knoinf Technology,

Chennai on 27th September 2017.

l The Third year students visited “ISRO, Sriharikota” on 14th

February 2018.

l The Second year students visited “SANDS (Signals and

Systems)” on 9th February 2018.

l The Department signed MOU and established a Centre of

Excellence on “Data Science and Big Data Analytics” in

association with DELL EMC-ICTACT on 27th September 2017.

Another MOU was signed and centre of excellence was

established in Red Hat Linux in Association with Advantage

Pro on 9th March 2018.

l In association with Salesforce and ICT Academy, the

Department organized “The largest learnathon of India” from

2nd to 3rd February 2018.

l A six day workshop on MVC PARADIGMS in association with

CSI was conducted by the department from 7th to 12th

August 2017

organized for second year students on 14th February

2018. Colonel Dr.P. Nallathambi, M.D, Shakthi

consultancy motivated the students with his inspiring

l A two days workshop was organized on “Advancements

in Concrete Technology” for third year students on 8th to

9th February 2018. Mr.Rtn. K.Vijaya Bhaskar, Director,

Dhoshi builders gave a speech on entrepreneurship in

construction and concrete technology.

l Organised 3rd National Level Technical Symposium

“SHRISHT2K17” on 2nd August 2017. MS.V.R.Gomathi,

Assistant Engineer, CMDA India graced the occasion with

her presence and gave an inspiring talk.

l Organized a three days Entrepreneurship awareness

camp from 4th and 6th September 2017. Mr.Dilipan Bose,

CO and Founder, CITRENE, Mr.Vishwanathan, CEO, UBICS

and M.Ramkumar Singaram, CEO, Catalyst Public

Relations Pvt. Ltd. Were present as chief guests for the

camp.

l An Industrial visit was arranged for the second year

students about the construction of an Indoor Stadium on

15th February 2018.

l The Third year students visited The Structural Engineering

Research Centre on 26th September 2017.

l A Seminar on “Young Leadership Skills in Business” was conducted on 12th July 2017. Mr.

Jidesh Patel, Director Marketing SFP India Pvt. Ltd., MEPZ, Chennai, presided over the function

and gave a motivational talk.

l The 10th National level technical symposium for the Science and

Humanities Department was conducted on 9th March 2018. The

inaugural address was delivered by Dr. R. Venkatesan, Scientist

and program director, National Institute of Ocean Technology,

Chennai, Ministry of Earth Sciences and Dr. S.Sundar, Head of the

Department, Mathematics, Indian Institute of Technology

delivered the valedictory address.

l The National level Mathematical celebration- Math Fest 2018 was

conducted on 14th March 2018. The program was inaugurated

by Dr. M. Murugan Professor and Head, Dept. of Mathematics,

TNOU and prizes for the special events were distributed by Mr.

Sitharaman.

l The inauguration of I Year batch 2017- 2021 was organized at Sri

Leo Muthu Indoor Stadium on 10.8.2017 for welcoming fresher

into Sairam Institutions. The event was preceded by cheering

motivational speech from popular orator, Tamil scholar, Suki

Sivam followed by Thiru. Jayaprakash Gandhi, a motivational

Speaker, Erode Mahesh, a popular television anchor and Thiru.

l The 10th Annual sports meet of our institution was

held on 19th March 2018 which was inaugurated by

our esteemed CEO Sri Sai Prakash LeoMuthu, our

trust member Sri. R. Satish Kumar and our principal

Dr.K.Palanikumar. Some of the special events like

Pigeon flying, Silambam, Nunchaku, Yoga,

Marathon etc., were also conducted on that special

occasion.

l The Basketball Women team, Hockey Men team,

Kabaddi Men team and Volleyball men team of our

college secured Bronze medal each in Anna

University Zone IV tournaments.

l The Tennis men team of our college secured Third

Place and Cash Award in SRM university Founders

Trophy 2017 tournament.

l The Chess Women team, The Chess Men team and

Table Tennis Women team of our college secured a

Silver medal each in Anna University Zone IV

tournament.

l The Tennis men team of our college secured Second

Place and Cash Award in SA Trophy 2018 held at SA

Engineering College.

their achievements at Delhi.

l Para Olympics for Special Children was organized by Rotary club of

Chennai Central Elite in our college on 13th August 2017.

l Our NCC cadets have visited Military Heritage Exhibition which was

organized by Colors of Glory Foundations at MCC Higher Secondary

School, Chetpet on 20th August 2017.

l The NCC Day Function was celebrated in our campus by our NCC cadets on 4th

September 2017.

l Two NCC SD cadets of our institution had attended NIC camp at Nagarcoil which was organized by NCC

DIRECTORATE TN, P&AN from 14th to 26th November 2017.

l Our NCC cadets have also participated in the NCC blood donation camp at Madras Medical College Campus on

23rd November 2017.

l The NCC Commanding Officer visited our Institution to motivate our NCC cadets on 6th September 2017.

National�Cadet�Corps

Our NCC cadet Ms.Athira Menon of

Youth Red Cross

The YRC unit of Sri Sairam Institute of Technology conducted a

Disaster Management Awareness program and a Demo program

for Fire Accidents and First Aid on 14th July 2017. They have also

initiated “Swachh Bharath Abhiyan” program on 13th September

2017. Dengue Awareness program and Nilavembu kudineer

distribution was held on 3rd October 2017.About 120 YRC

volunteers were engaged in the Fresher's orientation program

held on 27th February 2018.

Ÿ The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre

(IEDC) is being promoted in our institution globally to develop

institutional mechanism to create entrepreneurial culture for

engineering students and to foster techno-entrepreneurship

for generation of wealth and employment. Every year five

student's projects are funded by DST and five additional

projects are supported by the Institute.

Ÿ The novel Project on Bus pass and Ticket Automatic system

Ÿ A Project on Wireless Power Transfer using solar energy was

Ÿ A Project on Gaming for the Differently abled was designed by

Ÿ A Project on Kaksa -Future Black Board Using Internet of

Things and Cognitive Computing was designed by Naveedra

Ÿ A Project on Design and Fabrication of Pellet Extruder was

MATH CLUB

The inaugural function of Math club was held on 7th August 2017. Dr. R. Sivaraman, Associate Professor

(Founder of PIE Mathematics Association), D.G. Vaishnava College, Chennai inaugurated the club and spoke on

Agricultural and farming club was inaugurated in our institution on 29-June-2017 by Mr.R,S.Arjunan,

The Science club was inaugurated by Dr.T.V.Venkateshwaran, Scientist-

2017.

WOMEN FORUM CLUB

The Women Forum Club was inaugurated by Dr. D. Geetha, MD

DGO,Senior Assistant Professor, ISO KGH, Triplicane, Chennai on 31st

August 2017 in our college Auditorium.

SAFETY CLUB

Safety and special lecture on Industrial Safety-Evolution of legislation

and their role was deliverd by Mr.T. Selvakumar, Process Safety

Consultant and Certified Competent Person(PESO) on 11th August

2017 in our college smart class room.

YOGA AND EQUILLIBRIUM CLUB

Yoga and equilibrium Club was inaugurated on 8th August 2017 by

Jayarooba, BSMS, MD and a special lecture on “A Life style Disease

Management through Yoga” was deliverd by her as part of the

inauguration.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP CLUB

Entrepreneurship club was initiated in our institution on 19th February

2018. The club was inaugurated by Dr. N. Panchanatham, Professor and

UGC SAP Co-coordinator, Department of Buisness Administration.,

Registrar of Annamalai University 2013-15.

A 1-day workshop on “Woman Entrepreneurship” in association with

Centre for Entrepreneurship Development, Anna University was held

on 9th March 2018.

INDUCTION DAYrd thThe 23 Induction Day was organised on 4 August, 2017. Kalaimamani. Solvendhar Suki Sivam

was the chief guest. Mr. Jayaprakash Gandhi, Career Consultant & Analyst, Mr. Erode Mahesh, TV Anchor

and Mr. Vijayan, Media Personality (News 7) were the special guests for the grand function.

The newly admitted freshers with their parents attended the function. The students who were admitted through

social organistions like Maatram and Agaram were presented educational materials.

Shri. Leo Muthu Merit scholarships were presented for UG & PG students for their excellent

performance in the Anna University Examinations. The scholarship amount for the year was

Rs. 34,00,000/- (Rupees Thirty Four Lakhs only)
