Standards
The measuring instruments correspond to DIN EN 60051 and thesafety regulations in accordance with DIN EN 61010-1 resp. IEC1010-1.
Given below are the most important parts of the regulations con-cerning the construction and characteristics of electrical measur-ing instruments.
Measured error
The measured error of a measuring instrument or of an accessoryis established by alarms for basic errors and effects.
Our indicators and alarm instruments correspond to class 1.5, if noother measured error rating has been given for specific types. Op-tionally, measuring instruments can also be supplied for higherclass measured error. The class involved is always stated on thescale.
Mounting orientation
Generally the nominal position is illustrated by a position symbol.For instruments without any position identification, the referencerange is any vertical or horizontal position. The nominal mountingorientation is 5° in every direction of the reference position, where-by the effect (in addition to the indicated error) may not be greaterthan 50 % of the corresponding classified error.
Temperature effect
If not otherwise stated, the reference temperature is 23 °C ± 2K forinstruments of class 0.5 to 5. The additional error for a nominalrange of use of ±10 K within this temperature range may not ex-ceed the classified error.

Application
Bimetal ammeters are thermally inert and indicate the average ef-fective value. Intermittent current peaks have no influence on themeasured results, but continuous interferences are indicated. Dueto the big torque of the mechanism, the pointer is capable of drivinga non-return pointer. Thus, an attained maximum value remainsconstantly readable until a manual reset takes place.

Synchronizing indicators
Application
If an alternating current generator is to be switched in parallel witha mains system, voltage, frequency and phase relationship mustconform. With the help of the synchronizing unit, it can be deter-mined if this conformity exists. Usually, three single indicators areinstalled in a wall bracket.
Twin voltage metersconsist of two operating moving-iron mechanisms which are physically separated from each other.
Twin vibrating reed frequency metersconsist of two operating vibration mechanisms which are physically separated from each other.
Synchronoscopesare non-ferrous quotient mechanisms with a round dial. The point-er is capable of moving in both directions. It remains on mark onlywhen the frequency and phase relationships of both current loopsconform.
