Institute Board. Byrd Mashburn and the board members try to raise money to restore and complete the floor plan to the house that Frank Lloyd Wright envisioned.

Spring House is a work of art and inspires people by its unique design. It was designed by one of the most creative architects, Frank Lloyd Wright. The outside and inside of the house (even the furnishing) is remarkable and breathe-taking.

George and Clifton Lewis asked Mr. Wright to build the house for them in 1952. It was too expensive so Wright’s full design has never been completed. The Lewis family lived in the house until 1996 when George Lewis died.

The floor plan revolves around a living room that has huge windows that help give the house a natural feel. The Lewis’, among many other people of the 1950’s, liked to throw parties and the Spring House living room is perfect for just that.

About Spring House Institute

Wright completed the plans for this house in 1952. He never visited the house because he died shortly after Spring House was built. Frank Lloyd Wright was known for his organic architecture. He thought out the design to all the houses he built with a sense of keeping the house close to the nature that surrounds it. The Spring House definitely reflects Wright’s naturalistic style. Frank Lloyd Wright has designed over 500 structures and is known to be one of the most innovative American architects of the 20th century.

Second Sunday Tours- Purchase tickets for $15 on the Spring House website to go on a tour of the house 2P.M.-4P.M. on the second Sunday of any month

There are also currently Spring House Tours for the 4th Saturday of every month from 9A.M.-Noon. More information on the Saturday tours can also be found on the Spring House website.

Spring House Institution often has fundraiser events that they post on their website. The Dene Ross Event is on April 23, 6 to 9 pm. She will be showing her art at the Spring House Instition with live music by Seth and Ryals. Food and Drink is included. Students $10 Adults $25 Couples $4o.
