Refunds• Please select classes carefully and note the dates and times on your calendar. There is a “No Refund

Policy” for student “no-shows.” The Service Center is not responsible for reminding students of start dates.

• If for any reason you drop a course, the Service Center must receive your call ONE DAY PRIOR to the start of the first class for a refund. For dropped classes, a $5 processing fee will be retained for each refund. Refunds may take up to 4-6 weeks to process. In lieu of a refund, you may take a credit toward another class. Unused attendance is not transferable to another session or another student.

CancellationsThe district reserves the right to modify this schedule due to funding changes, reduction of staff or low enrollment. All state funded courses require a minimum number of students. These courses may be cancelled if those numbers are not maintained. Students will be notified in the event of a course cancellation and a credit toward another class or a full refund will be issued.

Uniform Complaint ProceduresThe Governing Board recognizes that the district is responsible for ensuring that it complies with state and federal laws and regulations governing educa-tional programs. basics of Mosaic art (open Studio)An eye for detail, patience, and a neat hand are helpful in this medium. After covering the 'basics' of glass and tile manipulation, composition, different an-damento styles, and setting techniques, each student will create a mosaic on either a two-dimensional surface or a sculptural piece (guitar, ceramic ele-ment, flower pot, etc.). The final product will be grouted, cleaned, and ready for use or display, then the student should feel confident enough to tackle a project of a larger scope. No prior experience necessary. Joe anDeRSonJoe currently teaches this course at SDSU, Mira Costa, Southwestern, and Cuyamaca Community Colleges. He is also the host of "Your Money Your Wealth" on AM 760 KFMB radio. Joe received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Florida, and he is a frequent speaker for a wide range of professional groups in San Diego County. He is a board member of The Society of Financial Service Professionals and a member of the Financial Planning Association.

RobeRTo aRRoYoRoberto is a guitar player/singer/songwriter from Texas with over 25 years of experience. He is versatile in many styles including rock, blues, country, and electric. Roberto has played in several bands and onstage. He has played in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, Nashville, and other cities. He also loves to buy, sell, trade, repair, and modify guitars.

LORENA BACALorena, a native of Mexico City, has a B.A. from CESSA University in Mexico City. In 1998, she founded Elia Enterprises, a company that provides professional translation services in more than 150 languages. Lorena operates after-school foreign language programs in private schools in Nevada and at CUSD. Lorena teaches Spanish to children, adults, and executives in private settings. Her extensive travel has provided her love and respect for other cultures and languages.

CaRRIe blISSCarrie is a certified instructor and has been teaching since the age of 17. After serving in the U.S. Navy for 6 years, she made San Diego her new home. Her professional experience includes a career as an intellectual property paralegal, executive coach, and fitness manager. She studied transformational coaching with best-selling author and columnist for O: Oprah’s Magazine, Dr. Martha Beck. Carrie learned yoga under the instruction of Dave Oliver, known worldwide for adjusting students into a stronger practice. Carrie enjoys teaching yoga flow, yoga sculpt, yoga dance, Pilates, high-intensity interval training, cycle, and barre formats while encouraging others to lead an active lifestyle. Her formal education consists of a Bachelor’s degree in Adult Education & Development from the Southern Illinois University, and a Master of Arts in Organizational Behavior

from Alliant International University. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Leadership and a Master's in Special Education with a teaching credential in mild to moderate special needs. She is the author of Single, Sassy and Sexy, a Practical Guide for Single Moms, and she is the founder of Our Daily Bliss and Our Daily Flow.

CHRISTIne bRaDYChristine studied ballet professionally with the School of American Ballet of the New York City Ballet, the Joffrey Center City Ballet, and the Pennsylvania Ballet. She performed with the Princeton Ballet Society and Princeton University Dancers. On top of that, she is a graduate of Princeton University and has a graduate degree from Stanford University. Christine is the President of the Americas Foundation - Fundacion de las Americas. Also, she has been directing the performing arts program of the La Esperanza schools and of the fledgling Universidad Marucana for the past 27 years.

Renee CaVanaUGHRenee has an aerobics instructor certification through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America. She has been teaching for over 16 years.

aRIana fIelDInG-TRUebAriana is a professionally trained dancer from the greater Seattle area. She has more than 10 years of training in ballet, jazz, hip-hop, modern, and contemporary dance. She has danced with Galletta Dance, Whidbey Island Dance Theater, Seattle Theater Group, and San Diego Dance Theater. She has attended master classes with Alvin Ailey, 5th Avenue Theater, Seattle Theater Group, Disneyland, and Pacific Northwest Ballet.

GeoRGe GalDoRISICaptain George Galdorisi began his writing career in 1978 with an article in U.S. Naval Institute Proceedings. He has written ten books, including the New York Times best seller, Tom Clancy Presents: Act of Valor, the novelization of the Bandito Brothers/Relativity Media film and The Kissing Sailor, which proved the identity of the two principals in Alfred Eisenstaedt’s famous photograph. His latest book project is a reboot of the best-selling Tom Clancy’s Op-Center Series. Book One, Tom Clancy’s Op-Center: Out of the Ashes, was released in 2014 and is a New York Times, USA Today, and Publisher’s

George and his wife Becky became Coronado residents in 1983 and their two young adults, Brian and Laura, are graduates of Coronado High School.

KIRSTIn GReenA Coronado native, Kirstin Green graduated from CHS in 1995. After completing her Bachelor's degree in art and classics at SFSU, she joined the Peace Corps and served in Ghana for over two years. Kirstin has worked as a professional mosaic artist and teacher since 2001, and she has mosaics on display in Coronado, Pasadena, and Ghana, Africa.

JaMeS IReYJames is an avid tennis player and tennis fan. He is the Assistant Coach for the Coronado boys Varsity team and Head Coach for the Junior Varsity team. James has played on and captained USTA teams and has participated in many tournaments.

GReG JoHnSonGreg has been organizing adult recreation basketball and softball leagues for many years. In addition, Greg is an assistant coach for the Coronado High School boys' basketball program.

SaRaH MeYeRSSarah is a passionate 25-year-old Navy wife, she graduated from the United States Naval Academy (USNA) in 2012, and she obtained her Master's in Elementary Ed. from Grand Canyon University in 2015. She is an athlete and was a competitive swimmer throughout high school and college. She has an extrensive background in fitness programs from Team Beachbody and received her PIYO pro license to teach PIYO live last May from Master Trainer, Jessica Talbi. Sarah's passion is set to coach, mentor, and teach others how to reach their highest potential!

ELIZABETH NEBOElizabeth graduated from Coronado High School and was a recipient of the Arrowmont Scholarship her senior year. She studied ceramics for three years at Grossmont College and went on to San Diego State University where she received her B.A. in Art

with an emphasis in ceramics, studying under Richard Burkett. Elizabeth has obtained her teaching credential in Art.

JANETTE NOELAfter graduating from San Diego State University with a B.A. in Graphic Design, Janette pursued a Master's degree in Education with an emphasis in Computer Education and Technology leadership at Cal State, L.A. She currently works as a freelance graphic designer and defines her personality as assertive, creative, and positive... characteristics of good teaching techniques.

JEANETTE PRICEJeanette is an educator with a knack for languages and writing. A graduate of the Master of Teaching program at the University of Virginia, Jeanette uses her background in literature to make learning English fun. Her interests include innovating English language learning curriculum for adults, writing a novel, educating for social justice, and working with adolescents.

KYle SoRenSenKyle is on the dance faculties at San Diego State University and San Diego City College, where he teaches contemporary modern dance, hip hop, and more. As the co-artistic director of somebodies dance theatre, he choreographs work that is presented around the world and has co-developed a unique approach to a dance technique called SubtleBodyBigDance. Kyle returned from a 2013-2014 Fulbright to Israel where he studied dance and creative process.

DIane RoJaSDiane has enjoyed teaching line dance in Coronado for over six years. She has been trained in line dance choreography, and she has helped many adult learners in San Diego County to enjoy life and have fun line dancing!

Dee SloanDee returned to yoga after a disabling injury, fibromyalgia and chronic pain. Yoga awakened a path of healing and resortation in her life. This led to a desire to earn her Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT), Somatic & Movement Therapist, and Nutritionist Counselor Certification at Natural Healing Institute College in Encinitas, CA. She is committed to utilizing the many self-empowering tools of nutrition, yoga, and somatics to help others enhance, maintain, and restore health and well-being.

2014 CERT Schedule The Coronado Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is a program that

trains citizens to prepare for – and respond safely to – disasters. The goal is to better prepare the community for disasters and to help serve neighborhoods when emergency

services are overwhelmed. CERT training promotes a partnering effort between emergency services and the people that they serve.

If a disastrous event overwhelms or delays the community’s professional response, CERT members can assist others by applying the basic response and organizational

skills they learned during training. These skills can help save and sustain lives following a disaster. CERT skills also apply to daily emergencies.

All classes are held in the Emergency Operations Center at the Coronado Police Department at 700 Orange Avenue from 9:00am-1:00pm

CPR ClassCPR classes are taught by Coronado Fire Personnel and are held in the Emergency Opera-tions Center (EOC) at 700 Orange Avenue, Police Facility. The class covers Adult, Child, and Infant CPR as well as AED. There is a $25 fee paid at the time of the class. Participants

receive an American Heart Association book and CPR card. *This class is not for Health Care Providers
