Fred,
Since I didn’t keep the cheerleading uniform,I wrote you this poem instead. Congratulations!
On a cold February day so long agoA star was born but, who would know?Through thick and thin and worn out shoesHe had not yet learned how to win or lose. And as he began to grow so tall and leanHe soon realized what that was about to mean.Basketball or baseball, which one would it be?He was good at both, the coaches could see. With support from his friend and mentor, SpeedyHe excelled and helped take his team to victory. We salute you Frank Sykes, and when it’s all said and doneYou’re our friend and our hero…..You’re our #31!
Love, from your favorite sister-in-law and brother-in-law

ON RECEIVING THE JOHN GILLEN MEMORIAL TRIBUTE
NETHER PROVIDENCE – The fans began to chant his name only moments after his players deposited ice water over his head. This was Kevin Clancy’s night, even if he refused the honor. The top man on Providence Road for 21 seasons, Clancy earned his 200th victory at Strath Haven Friday, with the Panthers dismantling the visitors from Upper Moreland, 42-6, at George L. King Field.
“This is for the kids and everybody else,” said Clancy, who improved to 200-49 at Haven. “It’s nice. This has been a great place to be for a long time. This is a great staff. Everybody on the staff has been here for a long time, so everybody shares in this. (There have been) a lot of great players over a lot of years. It’s been real good.”
