1. INTRODUCTION
1.1 Background Study
Nowadays, futsal, badminton, squash has become one of the major sports in many
countries. It is being one of the favourite sports among teenagers, adult and kids, including mans
and women’s. That is why we can see a lot of sport centre has been opened everywhere. As can see,
many other courts today still use the manual booking system. This system is quite unfriendly to the
user. By using the current system, users need to call or come to the futsal club by themselves to
check the availability and to book the court which is wasting their time if the court is not available.
Sometimes, there are happens the clashing when the booking data is not organized nicely. The
booking data of the current system will be stored manually and it has a high probability that the data
might lose or broken. Besides that, there are still so many lackage of using the current booking
system. The other problem is the management of court resources and staffs. Though the number of
staffs and resources are not as big as other company, but, they are still need to be organized
systematically since the staffs need to work until 4a.m every day. That’s why, the system is needed
to be replaced with a new system which is more systematic and user friendly.
1.2 Current Problem
One of major problems related to the court is about their booking service. Besides that, the
management services also need to be conducted efficiently.
1. Most of people today having a busy lifestyle. Time is becoming one of the priceless things. They
have no much time to do such a complicated job for no result. However, basically the person must
call or come to the Sport Centre to book court and other resources. And what if at the same time, all
of the court has fully booked. For sure, they are just wasting their time. They just can see on i-
booking but cannot book on that system so their need own system.
2. The owner also keeps or records their booking data in a log book. The chance and probability the
data might lose are high. Another problem that occur are when the team want to booking the futsal
court, there are always happens the clashing between another teams. This scenario happens
because the manual system does not have a proper management to handle it.
3. Besides that, most of the court is open for night and day. That means their worker needs to work
in shift. And it is quite complicated to manage their staffs manually. That is why the futsal court
management need a system which can arrange the schedule automatically. Based on the problems
that occur, this project will give beneficial to the owner of Sport Centre or the people in order to
make a management more efficient and follow up with the technology using nowadays. This system
also will make the organization became so easy and faster.
1.3 Propose System Solution
Sport Centre Management System (SCMS) is developed to give an efficient system to the
Sunway Sport Centre management. In the existing system, customer needs to come to the sport
centre to make a booking even they can check by i-booking. However, by using SCMS, they can make
the online booking anywhere and anytime. This system is covering online booking for customer and
online system for staff. This system is for the customers to booking court and other resources, view
court availability via online system. Besides that, by using GSM modem, a confirmation message will
be sent to customer’s mobile after they made the online booking. Based on the existing system, all
the booking data, equipment data, staff profile and others will be stored manually in a log book. This
is dangerous because the probability the data will be lost or damage is high. So, Sport Centre
Management System is also developed for all the booking and management data can be stored in
database which will be more secure
1.4 Objective
The main aim of this project is to design, develop a system which would assist the people who love
to play futsal and futsal court owner. The overall objectives of the project are:
1. To develop a web-based system of futsal court booking
2. To give confirmation message to the customer to approve booking.
3. To saved or record all booking data information in a database system which is more secure.
1.5 Scope
The system is developed for the several different scopes.
1. Customer – Enable customers booking court and other resources by using online system.
2. Staffs - Edit equipment and all courts management by using online system.
3. Database - To store all the booking data securely.
1.6 Benefits
By develop this new system will give some benefits.
1. Customer – No need to come to make a booking
2. Staffs – Can do work more efficiently, comfortly and fast
3. Data may not lost and easier to find

Interview Question for Sunway Sport Centre
1. How do you arrange the booking from customer? Is there any problem of the arrangement?
Sunway Sport Centre use two approach to handle the facilities booking arrangement. They use manual system and online system. The online system is iBooking. They need to use manual system if online system cannot be use due to technical problem.
2. If customer want to know about SSC or book the sport facilities, how they can get the info.a. Walk inb. By phonec. Websited. Others ________________________________
From the interview, we found most customers make facilities bookings through a phone call and walk in to the SSC.
3. What is the questions that always asked from the customer?
The question is often asked by customer is court availability and rate per hour, promotion and event.
4. Are you satisfied with the current system? Why?
User not strongly satisfied with the current system because they need to use manual system in the same time. The current system only provides customer to book the facilities and not provide much information to the customer like promotion and event.
5. What is the operational day and opening time of this SSC?
SSC operate Everyday and its open from 9.00 am until 12.00 am
6. Which day in a week SSC have more customer than the other day.
SSC have more customer on weekend.
7. What is the facility available here? How many?
SSC have 7 badminton courts and 4 futsall court
8. What are the most popular facilities here?
A badminton court is the most popular facilities here.
9. What is your opinion if customer can book and get info of the sport facilities true the internet?
Most of interviewee believe it is better if the user can make reservations through the internet because it can save time and cost.
10. Is there any idea or opinion do you have to improve the current system?
The current system can be improve by provide rate per hour, and info about promotion and event. New system should be user friendly, fast response and provide information customer needs.
