Who we are:
Journeys Of Inspiration is a relatively new initiative of the American Cancer Society. They’ve partnered with a local outdoors company, Pack Paddle Ski, to put the adventure in fighting cancer. Each year cancer fighters take on adventures and in the process commit to raising money for the American Cancer Society. Our first adventure was to Tanzania, Africa in February 2008 where we climbed Mount Kilimanjaro. We carried pictures and names of people who have been touched by cancer and in 2008 and 2009 raised over $250,000.00 for the American Cancer Society.
About the American Cancer Society:
The American Cancer Society is the nationwide community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives and diminishing suffering from cancer through research, education, advocacy and service.
Our mission:
To create a community of people whose lives have been affected by cancer and to strive to develop support for each other, spread awareness, fund the Cancer fight and celebrate the beauty and goodness of life.
