Honorable Herbert M. Bautista The Mayor of Quezon City Elliptical Road, Brgy. Central Diliman, Quezon City, 1100 (632) 444-7272 December 23, 2012 Dear Mayor Bautista, Pax! The San Beda College Alabang School of Law International Law Society (SBCA-SOL ILS) is a group of dedicated law students fueled with passion in the art of legal argumentation seeking your help to pursue our goal of individual and group empowerment. Our organization places a special emphasis in whetting our verbal and intellectual skills as well as our legal arsenal in different disciplines of debate particularly Asian Parliamentary, modified Oregon-Oxford and Moot Court format. It is our hope that you guide us in our ambition. On January 24 – 30, 2012, our organization will endeavor to compete against the best in the Asian Law Students’ Association (ALSA) Moot Court Invitational in KonKuk University located in Seoul, South Korea. The event will focus on issues concerning “Human Rights and the Movement from Retributive to a Restorative Justice.” This will be a very unique opportunity for law students around Asia to engage in issues such as human rights violations, juvenile delinquency, sexual victims, inter-country legislations, and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. We find ourselves at a critical juncture where we can impart our legal know-how to other students through discussions and competitions for us to better understand the need for a unified system of restorative justice for both the victim and violator. Unfortunately, our organization does not have sufficient finances to cover the fare and accommodation expenses of this 2012 SBCA-SOL INTERNATIONAL LAW SOCIETY MINISTERS: Steven Gatacelo Prime Minister Bernice Piñol Minister of Training and Development Carla Trinidad Minister of Internal Affairs Stephanie Dandal Minister of Finance FACULTY: Atty. Dear Mayor Bautista, Pax!The San Beda College Alabang School of Law International Law Society (SBCA-SOL ILS) is a group of dedicated law students fueled with passion in the art of legal argumentation seeking your help to pursue our goal of individual and group empowerment. Our organization places a special emphasis in whetting our verbal and intellectual skills as well as our legal arsenal in different disciplines of debate particularly Asian Parliamentary, modified Oregon-Oxford and Moot Court format. It is our hope that you guide us in our ambition. On January 24 30, 2012, our organization will endeavor to compete against the best in the Asian Law Students Association (ALSA) Moot Court Invitational in KonKuk University located in Seoul, South Korea. The event will focus on issues concerning Human Rights and the Movement from Retributive to a Restorative Justice. This will be a very unique opportunity for law students around Asia to engage in issues such as human rights violations, juvenile delinquency, sexual victims, inter-country legislations, and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. We find ourselves at a critical juncture where we can impart our legal know-how to other students through discussions and competitions for us to better understand the need for a unified system of restorative justice for both the victim and violator.

Unfortunately, our organization does not have sufficient finances to cover the fare and accommodation expenses of this fruitful undertaking.

In this regard, we are humbly requesting to solicit anyfinancial helpthat you could extend to us to make this important venture possible. Attached with this letter is the program for the above-mentioned dates. We will be forever grateful for whatever you contribute so that we may pursue this dream.

With warm regards,

Stephanie Q. DandalMinister of FinanceSBCA-SOL [email protected]
