ABOUT WNPFIt was a rainy night in Seattle in 1993. Former Governor and Senator Dan Evans was chatting with legendary mountaineer, Lou Whittaker, and Microsoft employee, Melinda French (Gates), about the wonders of Washington State’s three national parks: Mount Rainier, North Cascades, and Olympic National Parks. They knew the parks needed—and most importantly, deserved—volunteer and financial support. Together, they formed Washington’s National Park Fund (WNPF).

Washington’s National Park Fund is the official nonprofit partner supporting Mount Rainier, North Cascades, and Olympic National Parks. Because of donations from outdoor-loving, park-minded supporters, the parks can preserve precious lands, improve trails and campgrounds, fund more volunteer and youth programs, and

provide research dollars for glacial analysis, wildlife studies, and much more.

We are the only philanthropic organization dedicated exclusively to supporting Mount Rainier, North Cascades, and Olympic National Parks through charitable contributions, operating under a Partnership Agreement between each national park and the Fund. Annually, the park superintendents submit a wish list of projects that, except for charitable contributions, would not otherwise happen. These include programs to support volunteerism, encourage young people and their families to experience our national parks, enhance the visitor experience through trail and interpretive signage improvements, and expand the parks’ scientific knowledge to both cultural and resource management decisions.

OUR MISSIONThe Fund’s mission is to raise private support to deepen the public’s love for, understanding of, and experiences in Mount Rainier, North Cascades, and Olympic National Park.

Companies, foundations, and individuals have donated more than 3.5 million dollars to Mount Rainier, North Cascades, and Olympic National Parks through Washington’s National Park Fund.

WNPF is governed by a volunteer board of directors and advised by parks leadership, and is registered with the Washington Secretary of State’s office (Tax ID #01-0869799). The Fund is committed to financial accountability for our donors and park partners. You can also find the most recent IRS 990 and summary report on GuideStar. Work is conducted by a passionate team, lead by Executive Director Laurie Ward. The Fund’s offices are located in Seattle at the corner of Third and Stewart Streets.

2018 DINNER AND AUCTION Saturday, April 7, 2018 • Seattle Center Fisher Pavilion WNPF.ORG

WHY SPONSOR?We are looking for organizations like YOURS who value our state’s natural beauty, the promotion of employee wellness, and conservation of wilderness areas in Washington.

At Washington’s National Park Fund’s 2017 Spring

Dinner and Auction, we hosted 380 guests and raised

over $300,000 in support of the parks. In 2018, we

anticipate hosting more than 400 passionate parks

supporters, including donors from throughout Puget

Sound and across the state, as well as staff and

volunteers of the parks. As an auction sponsor you

can be a part of this amazing event that has grown

significantly over the past six years.

BENEFITS OF SPONSORSHIP• Your sponsorship maximizes the proceeds

that will directly benefit the parks.

• Promotion of your company directly to a community that values and supports national parks.

• Branding and enhanced company awareness through company name and logo on event marketing materials.

• Demonstrated thoughtful leadership on your part by showing that you care for our national parks.

• Showcase how your company is an active partner in community responsibility in the State of Washington.

• Our supporters feel a great deal of loyalty to those who support our mission—they will in turn support your business.
