EASTER SUNDAY OF THE RESURRECTION OF THE LORD

An Easter Prayer

Risen Lord, you are our resurrection and life! You are the resurrection and the life for us and all whom you have made. You are the resurrection and the life for those caught in the grip of sin and addiction. You are the resurrection and the life for those who feel forsaken. You are the resurrection and the life for those who live as if you do not. You are the resurrection and the life for those who know the way but fail to follow it. You are the resurrection and the life for those who are dying of malnutrition and hunger. You are the resurrection and life for those who are in prison. You are the resurrection and life for those who are persecuted in preaching the gospel. You are the resurrection and the life in marriages that are disintegrating. You are the resurrection and the life for those whose lives are snuffed out in the womb. You are the resurrection and the life for anyone anywhere who knows suffering and death. You are the resurrection and the life in the life we share and the fellowship we enjoy, let us be filled anew with the wonder of your love and the power of your grace, strengthened by your spirit, may we go forth and proclaim your resurrection life to a world in desperate need of your great love! Amen.
