Non-Regular Classes Involving Single Dog Entries (National Specialty Only)
Winners from these classes are eligible, if undefeated in another class, for Best of Breed competition
The following regular classes will be provided for both dogs and bitches
The following non-regular classes will be provided for both dogs and bitches Entries in the Veteran classes need not be intact.
Veteran 7-9 Years Class - 7 Years and Under 9 Years on the day of the show Veteran 9-11 Years Class - 9 Years and Under 11 Years on the day of the show Veteran 11 Years & Over Class - 11 Years and Older on the day of the show Field Class - For Dogs and Bitches who have an AKC Hun ng tle. Entries in Field Class need not be intact.
Non-Regular Classes Involving Multiple Dog Entries (National Specialty Only)
Stud Dog Class – For Stud Dogs and three of their Get. It is not necessary that the Get be under the same ownership as that of the Stud Dog. The Stud Dog must be entered in one of the Regular Classes or, if a Champion of Record, in Best of Breed compe on, and must be entered in the Stud Dog class as an “Addi onal Class.” The Get must be entered in one of the Regular Classes or, if a Champion of Record, in Best of Breed compe on. The Stud Dog shall be considered one entry and requires one entry fee. The Stud Dog must be shown in the ring with the Get. The class will be judged based on the merits of the Get. While the merits of the Stud Dog are not to be considered in the placement of the entry, the Stud Dog must be examined to determine if it has a condi on that would require its disqualifica on or excusal under the dog show rules, AKC policy, or the standard of the breed. Brood Bitch Class - same as for Stud Dog except subs tute Brood Bitch for Stud Dog and Produce for Get.
*Chapter 11, Sec on 8 of the "Rules Applying to Dog Shows" provides that a neutered male may be entered as a Stud Dog in the Stud Dog Class and a spayed Bitch may be entered as a Brood Bitch in the Brood Bitch Class.
Brace Class (Two dogs of the same breed, one or more common owner) – The dogs comprising a Brace must be named at the me the entry is made. If a dog which is to be part of the Brace is not entered in another class, it must be entered for “Brace Class Only” . In making entries for “Brace Class Only,” full par culars must be given for each dog using the individual, regular entry forms. An entry form for a dog entered in another class and entered as part of a Brace must be marked accordingly in the space provided for “Addi onal Class.” If more than one Brace is entered by the same owner, the dogs comprising each Brace must be designated “Brace No. 1,” “Brace No. 2.”
As the judge's decision in the Stud Dog, Brood Bitch, and Brace classes will be based on the merits of more than one dog or bitch, no one of the dogs or bitches making up the entry judged first in the class will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won either of these classes.

The Spinone Club of America needs your help to make the 2020ne Auction a huge success!
h ps://specialty.spinoneclubofamerica.com/Ac vi es/Auc ons
The 2020ne Specialty week will be here before we know it, and with all the commi ees working hard to make the en re event a success, including the Auc on commi ee, we need your help. We want this Auc on to be a lively and entertaining night, but we need your support and help to make this happen. We are in need of dona ons from any and all members, friends, and fanciers of Spinoni to be auc oned off at the Specialty. Items do not need to be Spinone themed, although these items are always popular and tend to bring in the highest bids.
Other well received items are unusual or unique art pieces. Or perhaps you know someone who does quil ng, embroidery, pain ng, metal work? A dona on can result in future sales for them! Do you do business with someone who could donate an item? State themed baskets are always a fun idea, so consider ge ng together with others from your area and pu ng together a basket of local and regional goodies. Not sure what to get – gi cer ficates to na onal chain stores or popular online stores make it possible for the winner to select what they need or want. The possibili es are endless.
Large items will be auc oned individually, either in an outcry auc on or in the silent auc on. Smaller items are welcomed too! They may be paired with other like items to make up a themed basket, or used in a bag raffle.
Please clearly mark your dona on “SCOA Auc on” or “SROA Auc on.” We can’t emphasize enough how important it is that you clearly mark your dona on! If you are dona ng for both, please mark the individual items. As you may know, the auc on is the primary fundraising event in support of the Na onal, and an important fundraiser for Rescue. We ask for support for both organiza ons from all Spinone fanciers, friends, families, and businesses. We have great auc oneers lined up who will make this a fun and lively auc on, but they can’t do it without your dona ons!
One note for prospec ve bidders: If you plan to pay by check, please remember to bring at least 2 checks when you a end the auc on. IRS requires that payments to SCOA and SROA must be made separately. Cash is always welcome as acceptable payment, and we happily accept credit cards!
All auc on items should be shipped to Barb Spence, 4331 Canal Road NE, Pleasantville, OH 43148, before September 15, 2021, or can be brought with you to the Specialty. Please clearly mark the outside of the box with SCOA or SROA Auc on. (I know we said this before, but it is so important that you make this designa on. Any dona on without a designa on will be auc oned off with the proceeds split between SCOA and SROA). Make sure you fill out an Auc on Dona on form and forward it to Laura Penfold ([email protected]). If you are dona ng a basket, please list (to the extent possible) the items in the basket. Doing so will help people know exactly what they are bidding on. Let us know if you will be sending or bringing your item(s). Laura Penfold can also help answer any ques ons you may have regarding the auc on. Feel free to phone Laura at (845) 339-1671.
Thank you, in advance, for your help!
