It is the family of products and solutions of-fered by API SpA to remove and treat coarsesolid particles from the water.

Its purpose is to protect hydroelectric powergenerating plants, water intake works, recei-ving basins, wastewater treatment plants,and irrigation and pumping works.

The systems include a rack with openingsnormally between 10 and 200 mm, and amechanical part (the rakers) whose actionmakes it possible to continuously removethe solids held on the rack; these are thenconveyed to special silos or collecting boxesthrough conveyor belts.

The range of products offered by API S.p.Aincludes several solutions, distinguishableby the technology used, the flow capacity,and the size; this makes it possible to meetalmost all needs.

It is the line of products to filter the intakewater of power plants, industrial plants, wa-stewater treatment plants, agricultural irriga-tion water, etc.

The stainless steel filtering panels, with me-shes that can range between 200 μm to 5mm are fastened on the rotating cylinder ofa drum filter. The water goes through themeshes, by gravity and under a small head,from the outside in, thus leaving the retainedportion on the surface; this portion is then re-moved by reverse washing

The working principle of the travelling belt fil-ter is similar to that of the drum filter, but itcan be used at greater levels of immersion

rs These systems transport and store the so-lids held by the screening and protectionequipment, to which they are interlocked.

A horizontal or lifting conveyor belt, made ofstainless steel mesh or elastomer and ha-ving a suitably designed profile, handles andlifts the solids from the screening equipment,transporting them to mobile boxes or to silosin which they are collected.

The width of the belt, which can be of theswivel or draining type, normally ranges froma minimum of 600 mm to a maximum of1,500 mm and its speed varies between0.25 and 0.35 m/s.

The machine is operated by an electrome-chanical system through a sealed bearinggearbox complete with shafts and gears fordrive and return action.

It is the family of products intended to controlthe water, to intercept and regulate canals,constant head intakes, storage reservoirs,and surge tanks.

Flat sliding gates and perimeter sealing over3 or 4 sides, controlled manually or servocontrolled, with electrical motor or oil hydrau-lic system.

Swinging gates with oil hydraulic operation,to intercept and regulate water flows and le-vels in hydroelectric power plants, canals,storage reservoirs, conduits, and surgetanks.

Automatic gates with trapezoidal section toregulate the level upstream or downstream,with control of the water flowing in a freechannel of variable flow.

Single and multiple element stoplogs, cove-ring widths and heights of several metres. Automatic spillways and siphons to containthe level in variable-flow channels.

The special services unit covers the installa-tion of the machinery and systems, theemergency interventions, the extraordinary,ordinary, and scheduled maintenance.

The Special Services team of API SpA parti-cipates in the installation and start-up pha-ses, also providing the training of themanagement personnel.

After installation, it makes available supportteams, which intervene to solve problemsand incidents, as well as in the course ofplanned activities of ordinary and preventivemaintenance.

API SpA’s special teams operate and arequalified to take action in harsh locations, athigh elevation, and utilising special devices.
