Durability and design versatilityin a full-vision door

Monumental door featuresand benefits Stiles and rails are rugged one-piece

6063-T5 aluminum alloy extrusions with aminimum 18" wall thickness to resist dentingand provide secure attachment for hardware.

SL-14 Medium Stile features 358" stiles;SL-15 Wide Stile has 412" stiles.

True mortise and tenon joinery providesexceptional strength and transfers the weight

of the glass and door directly to the hinge stile. Full-width top and bottom tie rods secured

with hex nuts are superior to inflexible welds

Integral exterior glass stops in stiles andrails provide added security and strength.Glazing can be specified in 14" or 1"thickness.

Top and bottom rails are 612"; an ADA-compliant 10 bottom rail is also available.

Maintenance-free surfaces keep doors looking new

Special-Lite Monumental Doors are available in Class 1 (0.7 mil) anodizedaluminum finishes, including our standard clear, dark bronze, and black, as well aoptional champagne, light bronze, and medium bronze. This attractive and durablesurface never needs painting, cannot rust, and will keep its new-like appearance fo

years with only routine cleaning. We also offer a selection of popular Kynar

painted colors, or you can specify the custom painted color of your choice.

Simplify field installation with factory-applied hardwareSpecial-Lite will apply hardware at no additional charge beyond hardware prepcharges. Factory-installed hardware not only fits better, but the installation iswarranted not to come loose under normal usage for a full 10 years. If youprefer, we can simply prep for field installation of hardware. We can supplythresholds shipped loose for field installation. Surface-applied door closers andsurface-applied sweeps must be installed in the field.

Mid-Rail

Our Mid-Rail is a one-piece extrusionwith integral exterior glass stops that issecured to the vertical stiles with mortiseand tenon joints and a full-width tie rod,further strengthening the door for evengreater durability. A mid-rail also separatesthe glass area into two sections for easierreplacement, and can conceal touch barexit devices from exterior view. We offerboth 4" and 612" wide mid-rails, whichcan be positioned horizontally or verticallyand specified in contrasting finishes to

create just the look you want to enhanceyour overall design theme.

SL-484 Mid-PanelThe SL-484 Mid-Panel is a Special-Lite exclusive that adds a nice design accentwhile protecting the center portion of the door in locations prone to heavy traffic.Our mid-panel is 12" tall and features an aluminum frame, poured-in-placeurethane core for thermal performance, and two 38" galvanized steel tie rodsat top and bottom which add considerable strength and durability to the door.Our mid-panel can be fabricated with any of our available door face sheetmaterial, finish and texture options.

Recessed pullsTo complement our mid-panels werecommend the SL-84 or SL-88 RecessedPull. The SL-84 and SL-88 are constructedas an integral part of the mid-panel, sothey cant come loose. There are noprojections above the door surface,which improves entrance safety. Theresalso nothing to wrap a chain around,for added entrance security.

PanelsIn severe traffic applications werecommend insulated 1" panels for thelower section of mid-rail and mid-panelmonumental doors. These panels can beconstructed with any of the face sheetmaterials and finishes available for ourdoor products, and feature a urethanecore for insulation and durability.

Complement any architecture with our customizing option

MuntinsAluminum surface-applied muntins canbe used with 14" glass to create aclassic look. Theyre available in 12"and 114" widths and can be usedtogether to create just the right designenhancement. 1" insulated glass is alsoavailable with internal muntins.
