Looking back on this year, we have come together kept together and worked together to achieve success. Yes, like any team, We have had pitfalls, obstacles and hazards that have blocked our path. But here at Expolanka Toastmasters, I firmly believe, that we have created and nurtured the environment that

provides a new Toastmaster with the skills and knowledge to face the Corporate world with Pride! But nurturing it is not enough, we need to keep it going. And my dear friends the best way to do that is just like a Speech: Constant Practice!

These words say it all for the entire Toastmaster Fraternity as we come to the Contest Season where everyone is gearing up with words of inspiration to battle it out for the crown. Noting it out this time

for the last Newsletter of the year it is true when I say that we, as a club, are well on our way to achieve the highest recognition in Toastmasters consecutively for the 2nd year running, simply because of the family we have at Expo with a “Dare to do spirit” who believe in Toastmasters. Hats off for all the hard work and effort given to the Club since everything which we have achieved is because of our Members. Finally let’s all remember why we joined Toastmasters, to be better Communicators, to be better leaders, but most important of all, at Expo, is the belief to be better Human Beings.

Everyone has the ability to Lead. Whether it is in a business environment, sports, or even in your own home as a Parent, we find ourselves Leading at some point in our lives. But to be an Outstanding Leader, I believe the one thing that matters the most, is to lead by example. Just think, the great leaders that come to mind..., isn’t it because of the way they live and have

done things in their lives...? They don’t have to be world famous leaders, but the ones YOU consider to be great; don’t they all personify one great quality that you aspire to..?? So to become a great leader, start living your life and make changes in your life that you would like to see in the world around you... And many great leaders will be made through your example. For even a child will follow your example, not your advice. Have a great year Toastmasters!!

Area F4: The Happenings

Area F4 contest was held at Commercial Bank Auditorium on 27th of February 2015. TM Zaidh Naushard and TM Hisham Yasir, the winners of the Area contest represented Expolanka Toastmasters Club. TM Zaidh Naushard was the winner of International Speech Contest and the First runner up of Table Topic Contest. TM Hisham Yasir won the Table Topic Contest and came Second Runner Up of International Speech Contest. The winner of both contests will represent our club at Division level on 28th March 2015.

The Executive Committee of Expolanka Toastmasters Club participated in the second OTP (Officers’ Training Program) and OJP (Officers’ Judges training Program) which was held at Dimo 800 on 31st January 2015.

SPEECHCRAFT 2015

19th February 2015, was an unforgettable day in the Expolanka Toastmasters Club calendar. 40 members of EFL A Team and B Team were granted the opportunity to participate in a Speechcraft program conducted by

Expolanka Toastmasters Club. 10 sessions of Communication and Leadership with a Grand Finale on

07th May 2015 will definitely make these individuals shine in the society.

The Sessions Include Effective Communication,

Structure your speech, Evaluations, Vocal Variety and Body language, Work with words, Small talk, Using

Visual Aids, Introducing a speaker / Vote of Thanks, and Free Association conducted by 08 dynamic experts from our own

Toastmasters Fraternity.

Currently at the end of 05 sessions, all the Speechcrafters are very

enthusiastic in completing their 02 Prepared Speeches, 02 Table Topics and 02 Roles while maintaining 90%

attendance throughout the program.

Most of the Speechcrafters state

that they did not believe that they could speak in front an audience, much less, overcome the fear of Public Speaking. But what they

didn't know at that time was that, they are Caterpillars who are

waiting to become butterflies...
