St. Peter‟s College of Engineering and Technology, a co-educational college was established by Lakshmi Saraswathi Educational Trust in the year 2008. The college aims to

impart training to students to develop their intellectual powers, identify and cultivate interest and talents, and train them to become responsible and eminent citizens of India. The College offers nine B.E. / B.Tech. Under Graduate Degree Programmes and five M.E. / M.B.A. Post Graduate Degree Programmes and B.Arch.

All departments organized Industrial visits for students to reputed industries in and around Chennai.

RESEARCH ACTIVITIES

Recognizing the importance of research and development for creating new knowledge for technological development of the country and for improving the living standards of the people, research activities are encouraged.

Project proposals submitted to AICTE by various departments are as follows:

Rs. 50 lakh project proposal on “Project Development

Centre for Green Technologies for Sustainable Development” by Civil Department.

Rs. 21 lakh project proposal on Cloud Based Content Storage and Processing System” By CSE Department.

Rs. 24 lakh project proposal on “Dynamic modeling,

simulation and implementation of multi input small power renewable energy supply system realized by special power electronics”, by ECE Department.

Rs. 45 lakh project proposal on “E-Learning Centre for Students”, by IT Department.

Rs. 24 lakh project proposal on “Personality and Skill

Development Programme for Engineering Students”, by MBA and English Departments.

Total grants of Rs 10.25 lakhs were received from various funding agencies during this academic year. During this year proposals for a total grant of Rs. 1.64 Crores were submitted to various agenesis.

ICT ACADEMY

Our college has become a member of Information and

Communication Technology Academy of Tamilnadu on 9th December 2013.

This academy is an initiative of Government of India,

Government of Tamilnadu and CII. The efforts of this academics is to forge a strong bond by encouraging ICT Corporation to play an active role in all aspects of talent building and research.

COMPUTER SOCIETY OF INDIA

CSI Student Branch was inaugurated on 23rd October

2013 by Mr. S. Ramasamy, Consultant & Ex Regional Vice President, Computer Society of India. 141 students have become members in CSI.

Placement Cell has organized the following training

programs through the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) – A unit of Government Enterprise for the top 150 final year students of ECE, CSE, IT and Mechanical Engineering departments.

Aptitude and Soft skills Training has been provided by

SMART TRAINING for all final year B.E / B.Tech students and by SRM TREE for MBA students.

academic year 2013-14 in the campus recruitment drive

Two days Science Exhibition for school students at Thiruvallur District Level was conducted at our college premises on 3rd and 4th December 2013.

The Science Competitions (Science Quiz, Science Essay Writing) for XII std students have been conducted at 65 schools from 27th November to 9th December 2013. 230 shortlisted students participated in the Science Camp at our College on 11th Jan 2014.
