Executive summary

In this NGO they are providing many services and facilities like lunch for free, water

facility, Arogya kendra, eye care center, tiffin services, senior citizen forum, physiotherapy

center etc. They arranging fund by own and some donors who wish to donate. This is not a big

NGO but then also they are performing well. Their motto is to serve only, not to gain profit.

In this they provided information about many things for joining and the donors who wish

serve food for only one day they can do so. We learn that how they convince the people for fund.

But there are some limitation also that they were afraid to give financial information. They are

facing many problem with acquiring fund.

Introduction

In today’s world people have become materialistic and don’t have time for others. Today we talk

about profits, globalization, GDP, imports, exports, but in all this we forget to talk about humanity. We

talk about emerging India in 2020 but we forget that this emerging face is not the actual picture. What is

per capita income? It is just average of income in which there are many people who actually don’t have

income. We define growth in an absolutely wrong manner. We see rich getting richer and say that its

growth, but what about that poor boy who does not know whether he will be able to feed himself for

the next meal. Growth in actual sense lies in the smile of a poor boy begging for a rupee coin, a widow

lady helpless in her own way. We make huge talks about humanity but do we do anything that can be

termed humanity in actual sense. It’s not that we don’t want to do but it’s that we are not thinking of

doing it.

As we are all children of God, we should have tendency to help our brothers and sisters who are

in need sometimes we saw people saying to a beggar “Why are you begging? You should work hard

instead of doing so.” But have we ever thought from his point of view, circumstances force them to do

so. The society is after all reflection of an individual. What is true for an individual will be true for society

so one needs to change himself only. Leave some mark behind otherwise where is the difference

between you and trees and stones.”

Since its establishment many poor people have taken its advantage. As the trust is a charitable

trust so the donation given to it is subject to tax-free. There are total 658 members running the

organization. They provide the medical services to old people a very nominal cost.

Such as if they are the new comer to the organization then they will have to pay rs.10. After

that this case will be valid for next 6 months so whenever they go for the checkup they will only have to

pay the medicine expenses i.e. rs.5.

Moreover they even sometimes arrange a picnic of 2-3 days which is free of cost.

The organization helps those people who are above the age of 60 years.

They even help the people who are blind or are facing difficulties in vision.

Objectives

The main objectives behind this project are as follows:

To do brief study of its association.

To analyze the customer expectations from the organization.

To study that which kind of service is being provided by the organization.

Lunch for Free

Shiva mastu sarva jagat started with the main objective to help the poor and needy people. They

provide lunch to old, poor and orphans free of charge.

They provide each and every possible facility to all the people without any restrictions. They even

provide free Tiffin’s to those who come for lunch.

Generally In lunch they provide gujarati thali roti, dal, sabzi, rice, pickles, khichdi, and kadhi. But if the

donor wishes even some sweets are provided.

We personally visited NGO and we saw that the people coming there for lunch were really very poor and

even didn’t have a proper thing to wear and live also.

The organization also allowed us to visit their kitchen, where we saw it was so cleanly managed. And

they believe in open kitchen system where anyone is allowed to see how the food is been cooked. And

food is hygienic also for health.

There we saw that the food materials used to cook food were of the same quality as we use in our day-

to –day life.

Tiffin service

Under this activity they provide free lunch Tiffin to “civil cancer patients and their relatives”.

They provide approximately 100 Tiffin’s for this facility. Even to provide food at proper time they have

purchased a maruti van which daily takes the food from organization to the civil cancer center. The

menu for these Tiffin’s remains the same as mentioned above. But they prepare different food for the

patients and their relatives, as the patients would require the food without any spices.

Senior citizen forum

In today’s world when young people mostly don’t have time for old people, they have conducted one

activity named “senior citizen forum”.

When this trust was established the main objective was to provide food to poor and needy people, but

they have adopted new concept for senior citizen since last 7 years.

In this organization there are total 556 senior citizens as its members. They are giving services as

volunteers. In this organization there are no fees for being a member of it. In return of their services the

organization provides a tour twice in a year for 2 days and probably 3 nights.

In addition to this, they also provide books and notebooks at a very nominal price. They also provide

money for further studies.

They meet every month for a whole day to have their lunch and dinner together and also to share their

experiences. Some of the old people meet every day to do prayers, yoga and some other activities. This

activity is generally carried on between 4 p.m to 6.30 p.m. this activity carries no fees, at the end of this

activity they provide tea-coffee with some snacks such as “sev-mamra, bundi, wafers and even pakodas

are provided sometimes”.

Water services

Recently, the organization has also started giving mineral water service to general public, where

they have setup two water coolers in their premises itself. They have named this service as “JALDHARA

WATER SERVICE”.

Moreover they have also constructed a temple in their premises, so all those coming to this

temple can have water.

Aarogya Kendra

Shiva mastu sarva jagat also gives medical facility without charging heavily on the patients.

Under this facility they provide medicines at a very nominal price of rs.5 which is almost negligible. The

public can take benefit of this facility only during 5pm to 8 pm daily.

All kind of medicines are been provided here for every possible diseases. Around 250 patients

are taking advantage of this facility at present. The main trustee of providing this service is Mr. Keyur

Shah. According to him these medical facilities are to be further expanded in future. They have several

plans such as to open a laboratory.

Eye Care Center

Apart from providing medical facilities they are also providing eye treatments. They provide free

eye check-ups and charge only rs.40 for making spectacles. As we know that the main purpose of this

organization is to serve old and needy people, so they always try to keep a very negligible cost. And eye

is very needy thing which is very important.

Physiotherapy Center

Under this physiotherapy center they provide physiotherapy treatment on nominal bases. They

have recently also purchased a machine for giving this facility and they are charging only rs.15 for it.

Even two- three other machines have been brought from abroad and have been verified by

world health organization (WHO).

The medical treatment and medicines are provided for the following diseases:

Blood pressure

Diabetes

Improper blood circulation

Asthma

Obesity

Under weight

Nasal blockage

And others

OTHER SERVICES

Apart from above mentioned facilities they provide other activities such as :

Scholarship or student loans/aid to those who are relatives of the members.

Distribute books as well as notebooks to those who need at a very reasonable price.

Provide Help during natural calamities such as earthquake, flood.

Moreover every Saturday and Sunday they organize some extra activity from 4pm to 6pm.

In addition to this they also provide the material for conducting funeral ceremony to the poor

people.

Apart from the above mentioned activities, they also invite general public to donate minimum

amount of Rs 10, so that they can serve a poor person for the whole day.

FUNDS

After knowing the facilities and activities conducted by the organization, now let’s know how the

funds are been raised to conduct all these activities. When this organization was started there were only

8-10 trustees. Even from them some of went to abroad. But the organization didn’t stop to grow. It

never feels shortage of funds.

The main source of getting fund is from donation by capable people.

Suggestions

The organization should have some specific criteria for providing their services due to which

many rich people are also taking benefit of the services provided by them.

They also should meet the people for the fund and people come to know about this NGO.

Much of the space given to the organization remains idle, which should be utilize for other

productive use.

Reference

We have just collected data from the people who were in the NGO.

And also ask to the responsible person of an organization.
