SUU Women Look To Busy Week CEDAR CITY, Utah, Feb. 23 – After taking a two-week respite from competition Southern Utah University’s women’s golf team jumps back in with both feet next week when the Thunderbirds are scheduled to compete in two tournaments as well as facing a pair of opponents in a modified Stableford scoring match. The Thunderbirds begin the week at South Dakota State’s Jackrabbit Invitational, which will be contested at the par-71, 6,945-yard Primm Valley Lakes Course. The team will then meet Northern Iowa and Creighton at the par 72, 6,269-yard Painted Desert Golf Club in Las Vegas. SUU then wraps up the week at the BYU at Entrada Classic at the par 72, 7,085-yard Entrada Golf Club in St. George, Utah. Scheduled to compete for the Thunderbirds are juniors Sadie Palmer and Kacy Buckner, sophomore Jamie Coking and freshman Kaohi Loo. One player from a group that includes senior Morgan Kerber, sophomore Brittany Edwards and freshman Rose Pelletier will fill out the SUU lineup with one competing as an individual at the Jackrabbit and Entrada Classic. The entire team will compete against UNI and Creighton. The 14-team field at the Jackrabbit Invite will provied a bit of a preview of the Summit League women’s championship, which will be held at Primm Valley in April, as seven Summit League teams are entered, including SUU, Oakland, UMKC, North Dakota State, Oral Roberts, Western Illinois and host South Dakota State. The Thunderbirds finished at 980, well off the pace of team champion Oral Roberts, which shot 28-over par 892 to edge Missouri State by two strokes and Drake by four.
