THE FACULTY DAVID M. BENCK Is the Vice President and General Counsel for Hibbett Sports, Inc. and has over 22 years of experience in the legal profession, primarily as General Counsel to public and private companies. Mr. Benck also serves on the Board for the Atlanta Federal Reserve Bank, representing the Birmingham district. STEPHEN A. BRANDON represents businesses and individuals in a broad range of disputes. He helps companies to enter into, and enforce, relationships with employees in which valuable business assets and proprietary processes are protected from abuse or improper disclosure. W. TODD CARLISLE is a member of Sirote & Permutt’s Corporate and Tax practice group where he provides a wide range of services for businesses and families. He is a trusted advisor to clients in diverse industries including insurance, financial services, health care and technology. Todd also serves as President of the firm and as a member of the firm’s Board of Directors. WILLIAM N. CLARK focuses on white collar criminal defense, criminal defense, family law, civil litigation, and professional discipline defense. He has taught Evidence, Criminal Procedure, and Business Fraud at the University of Alabama School of Law. GREGORY S. CURRAN has over 25 years of experience advising clients through all types of business matters and complex transactions. He is the newly elected Chairman of Maynard Cooper & Gale. LUKE DEMBOSKY a cybersecurity lawyer at Debevoise & Plimpton, spent more than a decade leading Justice Department investigations of major cyber breach cases, including those involving Sony, Target, Anthem and many others, and served until March 2016 as Deputy Assistant Attorney General for National Security. Luke now advises companies on managing cyber risks and handling incident response, and litigates related civil and regulatory actions. RONALD B. GOLDMAN is a Managing Director at the investment banking firm Croft & Bender, and has substantial experience in M&A and private equity transactions. He is also a Partner in C&B Capital, its affiliated private equity fund. JOHN B. GRENIER is Chairman of the Board of Bradley Arant Boult Cummings. He joined the firm in 1983 and practices in the areas of general corporate, securities, and mergers and acquisitions. JOSHUA D. HALPERN delivers risk transfer solutions for corporate M&A and private equity investment. He previously was at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP, where he specialized in public and private mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, and securities offerings. CHRISTOPHER B. HARMON is Chair of the Corporate, Securities & Tax Practice at Maynard Cooper. He handles mergers and acquisitions, private equity, antitrust, general corporate and securities matters for private and publicly held companies. ASHLEY HATTAWAY is the General Counsel and Director of Human Resources at E.A. Renfroe and Company. She previously practiced at Burr & Forman’s Birmingham office and represented management in all areas of labor and employment law. W. MICHAEL HOUSE concentrates on legislative and regulatory matters before the U.S. Congress, White House, and various departments and independent agencies of the executive branch. ALEX B. LEE is the Executive Vice President and Deputy General Counsel of Regions Financial Corporation. NEWSOM has argued four cases in the U.S. Supreme Court, filed amicus curiae briefs and authored numerous certiorari-stage briefs.
