How we worked… We worked as a team, compromising, so that

each of us did the job or task that we felt comfortable completing. Dan Morrison and myself did recording, along with a speedy finish from Luigi. Also the GPS instrument was used by Paul Fallon and Luigi Guarino. Finally our “tree master” was Luigi, who identified trees and characterized them.

Day One… We got organized We figured out who would accomplish what. We started measuring and knowing our trees,

we got comfortable We fulfilled our quota, eight trees and became

familiar with our jobs. We finished our class stressed about how to

complete all forty or so trees

Day Two… This was our most uncomfortable day, we

tried to complete a large portion of our section.

The result was that we completed a large portion of what we expected to complete, but still had roughly half the trees to complete in a day.

Day Three… We finished everything! Once the assortment of trees, the variety of

different species was completed, we had approximately half of our trees bordering the U-Mass road, and they were all the same species and the same height class.

We completed the GPS locations for each of the trees and left that day, with all our research complete.

What our section is like… Our section, covers the turf fields, and the

general, boxed in between the U-Mass road and Morrissey.

This territory is consisted of living things such as birds, squirrels, grass, and trees.

The area is mostly consisted of open fields. We collected data for thirty nine trees.

In Conclusion… Our group, Dan Morrison, Luigi, Paul Fallon

and Dan Murphy, worked together and completed the task. We were environmentalists, exploring our very own campus and discovering that nature doesn’t just exist in forests and rural areas. In the middle of Boston, our school’s trees are one such example of an area in which nature can be found in an urban area.
