SAN JOAQUIN DELTA POWER SQUADRON MEETING MINUTES

MONDAY, January 8, 2018

CALL TO ORDER Nick Patterson, Commander, called to order the SJDPS meeting at 7:32pm on January 8, 2018 in Stockton, CA. Wesley Sartain led the Pledge of Allegiance. Secretary Megan Patterson announced that a quorum was present. The minutes of November 2017 were approved with a motion from Candace Blue and a second by Gary Rogers REPORTS

• BoatingActivities-MikeMcIntyre:StPatrick’sCruiseoutwillbeatGrindstoneJoes.FliersareattheendoftheSoundingBoard.PlanswillbemadeforMemorialDayattheisland.TheBaycruisedatesareset.NickandGarywillhelpleadthiscruise.BobMilesbroughtuptheDistrict25RendezvousatRioVistainJulythatourSquadronishosting.Acommitteewillbeputtogethertoplanthisactivity.

• MembershipInvolvement:MeganPattersonreportedthattheHolidayPartywasasuccess.Onlyabout49peopleattendedbutwebroughtinover$2,000.00fortheislandaccount.

2. NationalPowerSquadronisrebrandingitstitletobeaka“America’sBoatingClub”.Manyorganizationsaredoingthistotryandincreasemembership.

3. NominatingCommittee-ScottWiesemann:1morepersonisneededfortheExecutivecommitteeand1morefortherulescommittee.Rolandvolunteeredfortherulescommittee.VotingwilltakeplaceattheannualmeetingattheChangeofWatchonFebruary17,2018.ThiswillbeouronlymeetinginFebruary.

NOMINATIONS FOR OFFICERS 2018

In Compliance with Section 9.3 of the San Joaquin Delta Power Squadron Bylaws, the following members have been nominated by the Nominating Committee for election to positions within the squadron. Voting will take place at the Annual Meeting, Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 1800 hrs at Papapavlo’s Restaurant. According to Section 11.1 candidates may be nominated by petition in writing, signed by at least five active members and filed with the Secretary at least 15 days before the Annual Meeting. According to Section 11.3 If vacancies exist in the properly formulated slate of nominees at the time of election, they shall be filled by nominations from the floor duly made by members qualified to vote and present.
