PRODUCTs RELATING TO THE WOOD SECTOR ...............................................................p.22
KEY EVENTSFounded in 1962 by Christian de Maillard,
SOPPEC was initially a Charente-based
company which elaborated paints, wood
maintenance products and varnishes for
professional use.
On the eve of the 1990s, the company was
specialising in the design, manufacture
and marketing of innovative marking
systems in aerosols.
Intended initially for forestry marking
professionals, the SOPPEC aerosols have
made a successful name for themselves
in the building and public works world,
carried by the development of an
innovative, patented safety spray cap.
In 2004, Thibault de Maillard, Managing
Director since 1996, succeeded his father
and became the owner of a constantly-
growing company that had become the
European leader in its markets, with
innovation and diversification the keys to
its development.
Having opened a new logistics and storage
site in 2009, 2010 marked a new stage for
SOPPEC with a significant increase in its
production capacity to support the growth
of its domestic and export markets.
THE VALUES WHICH MAKES US DIFFERENT
C U S T O M E R
S A T I S F A C T I O N
Customer satisfaction is one of the key
values in our international development. It
is based on constantly and cost-effectively
improving performances, respecting
the health and safety of people using
our products, innovation and focusing
carefully on detecting expectations and
new requirements.
I N N O v A T I O N
The fruit of nearly thirty years of research
and testing, the creation of aerosol
marking systems was a major innovation
and represented decisive progress for
professional users. Our product ranges
have been improved constantly since then.
Focusing on five major aspects: durability,
product safety, broadening and updating
the range (colours, textures, functions),
ease of application and respect of man and
the environment.
T R U S T
Analyses, qualitative tests, multiple ins-
pections, ageing tests, etc. Every product
manufactured by SOPPEC benefits from our
total process control, from design to market
launch. This total traceability is what makes
SOPPEC so trusted by professionals.
R I S K M A N A G E M E N T
SOPPEC has been committed to a glo-
bal quality, safety and environmentally-
friendly approach for twenty years. This
includes risk control for both the produc-
tion and logistics sites and product users.
Our “SEVESO“-classified French manufac-
turing sites are measured specifically for
the storage of gases and solvents used in
the aerosols. The products themselves are
inspected many times for their seal and
reliability.
SOPPEC HAS BEEN IMPOSING ITS BRAND SINCE 1962A European leader which continues to score points
A BRAND WHICH RESPECTMAN AND THE ENVIRONMENT
INTERNATIONAL COATINGS CARE® COMMITMENT SOPPEC pioneered the introduction of the COATINGS CARE international programme into France in the 1990s. An initiative specific to the coatings industry (paints, glues and adhesives, inks, etc.), the Coatings Care Programme has been implemented in more than ten countries worldwide, including the USA, Canada, Brazil, Japan, Australia and France, for more than ten years. Its signatories undertake to consider and control the impacts of their activities on health, safety and the environment. They are therefore adhering to genuine ethics of responsibility and on-going improvement.
QSE-CERTIFIED MANAGEMENT SYSTEMThe QSE integrated management system is based on three certifications - ISO 9001 for Quality, ISO 14001 for the Environment and OHSAS 18001 for Health and Safety. In these three complementary fields, the SOPPEC approach is based on analysing and preventing risks, on-going improvement of performances, compliance with regulatory requirements and customer satisfaction. The triple certification has been renewed successfully every three years since 2004.
TAKING UP THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT CHALLENGEToday, the certifications obtained by the company and their renewal commit SOPPEC to a path of real sustainable development policy. This policy is hence-forth defined in the charter below.
SOPPEC COMMITMENT FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT• Make environmental protection, human health and responsibility for individuals the conditions of its survival.
• Promote internally a genuine sustainable development attitude, where social dialogue, awareness-raising, staff training and an organisa-
tion to achieve this reign supreme.
• Act as an ambassador for sustainable development to its customers, suppliers and partners.
• Behave as a socially responsible company by conducting a policy of transparency, on-going improvement and listening.
• Contribute to the search for and development of ever-safer products.
• Comply with and even anticipate the health, safety and environment regulations for an economically acceptable cost.
• Make its ethical and law-abiding behaviour the fundamental rule in its commercial initiatives.

or N (toxic for the aquatic environment) pictograms
on their labels.

MARKING GUN
the forestry markers in the SYLVamark® range
satisfy many uses in the wood sector, including
both forestry management and wood processing.
The range ensures accuracy, visibility and durability: fluorescent
aerosols (FLUO MARKER®, FLASH MARKER or HYDRO MARK
FLUO) or non-fluorescent (STRONG MARKER®, HYDRO MARK
or STANDARD MARKER®).
The aerosols are fitted with a specific patented cap and are
used with the top pointing upwards.
SOPPEC is working with foresters on the innovative SYLVAGUN
marking gun, which is both lightweight and comfortable.
Lastly, to limit the impact of its products on the environment,
SOPPEC offers an aqueous phase range: HYDROMARK, existing
in aerosol and cartridge compatible with the SYLVAGUN.
• All the aerosols are formulated according to our triple certification
rules.
• Use of products up to very low temperatures thanks to highly
pressurised cans (5 bar) and a specific propellant gas.
adVice on uSe
Should be used upright, apply less than 10 cm from the surface for clear, accurate marking.
• Before use: Shake the aerosol with purge upside down to mix the paint properly (you can hear the beads clearly).
• After use: purge upside down (until only gas is released) to clean valve and spray.

SYLVaGun FORESTRY markinG Guna true (patented) innovation, the first professional marking gun for foresters.
Lightweight, ergonomic, SOPPEC has designed the SYLVaGun to make marking operations more comfortable and less restrictive.
It is fitted with:
• a removable metal scraper (a), which can make marking easier by preparing the surface to be marked without using another tool or potentially damaging the aerosol.
• a translucent protective cone (b) which restricts the paint projections without restricting the marking vision.
it is used with the SoPPec fLuomarker® or StronG marker® or HYdromark range of refills.
To keep SYLVaGun working properly and ensure its long life, SOPPEC has developed the specific cleaner, SYLVACLEAN. This is mounted on the gun to clean it easily and prevent the nozzles and spraying system from clogging (see pages 26 and 27).
