geneology research.creation of a mosque typology.

A mosque study of several different mosques. 8 mosques chosen to research. mosques grouped into families based on certain characteristics. conclusions were made based on rug patterns, windows and lighting, and dome mosaics. typology created.

project design,L.A.S.E.R. mosque.

A design inspired by the ideas of the society of rooms and the typology of the geneological research. the mosque grows in complexity from ground to sky as the reflective angles morph from the site and the peak of the mosque emerges at a point met by all the complex angles of the envelope. light is reflected into the mosque spaces through the reflective planes of the site. the light now entering the mosque is then refracted into the lower spaces through the reflectiveness of the inner shell of the envelope. thus mosque L.A.S.E.R is born.
