1 PURPOSE: The purpose of this document is to explain how to activate software for a computer without Internet connectivity

3 SCOPE: This process applies to all computers on the manufacturing floor with NO INTERNET CONNECTIVITY.

4 PROCESS FLOW

On COMPUTER B (with NO Internet Access) 1. Launch the FactoryTalk Activation Tool on Computer B 2. Click on the Get Activations Tab 3. Under the header, “Select the Host ID to use for activation” select “Use Host ID of this computer” radio button 4. Write down the desired Host ID syntax that will be used

On COMPUTER A (With Internet Access) 5. Go to http://licensing.software.rockwell.com 6. Click on Get Activations in the menu tree 7. Select the Host ID type 8. Based on the Host ID selection, enter the Host ID manually 9. Enter in the Serial Number & Product Key for Rockwell Software from the Activation Certificate 10. Step #10: Click Next

If node locked activation � Quantity of activations to be tied to the LIC file will be 1

If concurrent activation � Quantity of activations to be tied to the LIC file will need to be specified

11. Validate the data and click Next 12. Click OK 13. Click on the Node-locked or Concurrent Activation for your computer 14. Click on Save 15. Save the LIC file created to a USB drive, CD, floppy disk or other transportable media.

COMPUTER B (with No Internet Access) 16. Deploy the LIC file to the required location

NOTE: Check the Settings tab of the FactoryTalk Activation Tool for the required location (ie. C:/Program Files/Common Files/Rockwell/Activations)

If node locked activation proceed to step #20 If concurrent activation proceed to step #17

17. Click on the Setting Tab 18. Click on Start Activation Server 19. Verify the Activation Server is started 20. Click on the Current Activations Tab 21. Click on Refresh 22. Verify the activation appears in the Upper Window of the FactoryTalk Activation Tool 23. Launch the software on computer B
