1 Take out the two Flappers toget the energy path to appear.Do the same in the next room,as well.

2 Check the sides of the ener-gy path to get extra Rings.These can be very easy to miss.

1 Above each of the sideblocks are Rings that lead up toa balloon containing 5 Rings.Grab onto the Pull Ring to hoistyourself up to the next level.

2 Wait until the block rises,and then travel underneath it tothe Check Point.

1 From here there are twoways to go. You can either rundown the ramp to the right orswitch to Flying Formation andgrab onto the Pull Ring to hoistyourself up.

1 Fly across the balloons tothe other side. Inside every bal-loon is the wing which will refillyour Flying Gauge.

2 Run on the energy path, andthen make a left. Runningunderneath the rail leads towhere the two paths come backtogether.

1 Running down the path tothe right will land you on a plat-form with a locked switch and aFlapper. You can go two direc-tions from here. Traveling downthe energy path will lead you towhere the upper path went. Youcan bounce off of the enemiesusing Homing Attack to get upfaster.

2 Shoot the Flapper down tounlock the switch, and afterpressing the switch, use thepole to go up. You will be flungonto a rail which drops downonto the main path.

2 Kill all three Flappers tounlock the switch. Touch theswitch, and then use the pole toreach the area with a Cameron.

3 Try to stay on the top por-tion of this area. Jump acrossthe blocks that came out of thewall, then grab the pull switchto go up even higher.

4 Ride the rail, then switch toSonic. When you see the flyingenemy, use Homing Attack tojump off of him, and then landon the other rail.

5 Switch to Flying Formation,and then jump over to the newlyprotruded ledges on the left. Onthe top of the second one, useThunder Shoot to hit the target.

6 Jump down, and then fly intothe opening. Bounce up thewide spring, and then use theJump Plate to get onto the spin-ning platform.

7 Halfway up, the platform willstop rising. Defeat the threeFlappers to get it to moveagain. If your Thunder Shoot ispowered up, it won’t take long.

8 After traveling up the pathpast the Cameron, jump over

the green boxes and get theSpecial Key out of the cage.

Reach the top path using

the nearby Pull Rings or flying upfrom above the green boxes.

9 Watch out for the fireballswhen going up the path. If youthink you may run into them,then go partway up, and usethe Team Blast.

bk Continue upward and avoidfireballs while fighting enemies.When going up the path, take alook at the shadows to deter-mine where the fireballs will be.

1 You only have one chance to stay on the top, so make itcount. Use Homing Attack tobounce off of the first tworobots, and then land on thenew platform that will come outof the wall.

2 Bounce off the next threerobots, and use Thunder Shootto destroy the three Flappers.Jump to the next ledge thatcomes out of the wall.

3 Destroy the Flapper, andthen bounce up from thespring onto the rail. Grinddown the rail with Tails as theleader; near the end jump upand use Thunder Shoot to killthe Flapper. Land on the plat-form there and get the

Special Key in the cage. Thisis a pretty tricky maneuver,so be careful and watch yourstep!

4 When you reach the rotatingplatform going up, watch outfor the fireballs. Every third ofthe way up, it will stop and youwill have to defeat Flappers.

Defeat these three Egg Pawns to get the spinning platformmoving again.

Running into a fireball willcause you to lose Rings.

The shadows show you wherethe fireballs are.

Kill the Flappers here using Thunder Shoot.

This time you must dodge fire-balls on the way up.

1 After running across theDash Panel, you will be in agiant room and lava willbegin to rise. Make your wayup by jumping through theDash Rings.

2 When you reach thespeed signal, use HomingAttack to bounce off of theenemies. After the lastenemy you can use LightDash. If you missed theopportunity, then switch toTails and fly up.

3 At the second group ofenemies, fly up through theDash Rings. A cage will beabove you. Destroy theenemy at the top to get ridof it, and then grab onto thePull Ring to get to the top.

4 Fly up to the spring, thendestroy the two enemies inthe next room. Bounce off ofthat spring to reach the topof the power plant and theGoal Ring.

Use Blue Tornado to launchAmy’s team into the air.

Strategy:The object of the battle issimple: Knock the other teamoff of the ledge to win. Startby grabbing the Blue PowerCore in the center (1) (soAmy can’t use it), then whenthe other team members arenear, have Sonic use BlueTornado to fling them into theair (2). While they aregrounded, you can collect

more Power Cores or stealtheir Rings (3). If Amy’steam doesn’t have any Rings,it will be easier to knockthem off. Also be sure to lookaround, because there isnothing more annoying thanto get hit from behind. This isa fairly easy battle, and youshould be able to get an ARanking after a couple oftries.

Use Light Dash here to reach the top faster.

Treasure hunter Rouge, who flies all overthe world in search of precious jewels,one day hears that Dr. Eggman is accumu-lating a massive treasure collection. Sheimmediately heads for Dr. Eggman’s head-quarters to liberate these riches, but dis-covers the base abandoned with all thevaluables gone. However, she comesacross a stasis capsule that to her surprisehouses the figure of Shadow. Far frombeing deceased as everybody thought, hewas indeed very much alive, but uncon-scious. In order to release Shadow fromthe capsule, Rouge switches on the facili-ty's power, unintentionally reactivating thefinal E-Series robot, Omega. Shadowwakes to find his memory gone, unable torecall why or how he went into stasis.Omega, on the other hand, was ratherupset about Dr. Eggman shutting himdown. Mistaking Shadow for one ofEggman’s robots, he immediately starts toattack him. Rouge steps in to break up thefighting, and reminding them both thattheir enemy is Eggman, the three shakehands and the team is formed. “Yeahbaby!"announces Rouge. "That makes usa team! Let’s go find Eggman!”

1 Bounce off the two Flappersusing Homing Attack, and thenpass through the hoops andperform a Team Trick. Destroythe Camerons to make the pathappear.

2 Destroy the three Flappers,and then push the switch in toopen the door. Kill the EggKnight, and the path willappear. To activate the switch,press the attack button to grabon and then use the controlstick to push or pull it.

1 Run down the ramp andbounce off the robot and thenoff the wide spring. If you wantto get to the Special Stage,there is a Special Key locatedbelow. At the top, destroy all ofthe robots to release theswitch. Touch the switch toopen the door and get the 20Rings inside.

2 Run up the ramp in SpeedFormation, and when youreach the two Flappers, useHoming Attack to bounce offthem and then perform a TeamTrick.

1 Destroy all of the enemieshere to lower the path andrelease the switch. Touch theswitch to open the left door.After killing the Egg Pawnsinside, push the switch in toopen the right door containingthe High Speed.

2 Use the Light Dash, kill therobots just after the widespring, and then bounce off ofthe wide spring and use theLight Dash for more points.

3 Bounce off the left robot,and then use the Light Dash toget a 1up that was locked up.

4 In the narrow hallway past theCameron, jump through the hoop,and then use a series of LightDashes. Defeat the Camerons atthe bottom to release the switchto open the door.

5 After using the Jump Plate toget to the top of the blimp, usethe Light Dash on the hoops toget to a 1up in a balloon. Turnaround to get a Special Key.

6 Use the pole to get to higheror lower places by performingBlack Tornado, as shown in thepicure below.

7 After passing through theFlying Formation change gate,jump up and fly through theDash Ring. You will want todrop down because there are

three robots to defeat.8 At the first wide spring youcan, bounce off of it, and thenuse the Light Dash. Since thisStory is battle-intensive, choose

to take out the robots instead.1 Jump into the cannon.

This is the fastest option andshoots you ahead onto a rail.

Flying Formation will put you ontop of a building with four bal-loons. One of the balloons con-tains a 1up.

Shoots you over to center area.Destroy the four enemies to getthe items.

2 Switch rails to grindbetween the buildings on theright or left side or switch toPower Formation when youbounce off of the spring to per-form a Team Trick.

3 Bounce off enemies on theway down to gain extra bonuspoints. To get an A Rank youwill need to use every trickthat you know.

4 Defeat the two Flappers torelease the switch and raise thepole. After going up the pole,bounce off the wide spring toexit the building.

1 At the end of the long ramp,jump through the hoops to per-form a Team Trick and savetime. Going to the bottom willget you about the same amountof points.

2 Fly through the Dash Ring,and then destroy the Cameron.Watch out for the weights thatfall.

3 To get the final Special Key(if you don’t have one), shootdown the cage with ThunderShoot, and then drop down tothe platform with theCamerons to get it. You can getback up using the wide spring.

4 Run in Power Formationalong these three Jump Plates,and jump through the hoops fora Team Trick. Run straight upthe center and then jump toperform another Team Trick.

5 Run in Power Formation toget all of the Rings beforereaching the Goal.

Amy, crazily in love with Sonic as always,is concerned that she hasn't had anycontact for over a month. Making littleprogress on his trail, she is about to giveup hope when she catches sight ofSonic's picture in a newspaper. In herexcitement, Amy runs straight to thepublishers to ask where the picture wastaken, and on her arrival, she meets ahuge, familiar-looking cat called Big anda cute rabbit named Cream. A quickexchange of stories reveals that Big islooking for his best friend Froggy, andCream is looking for her friend Chao'stwin Chocola, both of whom hadappeared in the picture with Sonic. Fromthis, they decide to continue their searchtogether. “You can't run forever Sonic!Mark my words we WILL be married!!”

6Use the Bobsled to grab asmany Rings as possible. If youwant to be accurate and grabthem all, use the attack buttonto brake and take it slow.

7Switch to Power Formationand run straight up the JumpPlate. You will be launched for-ward and pass through all threerainbow hoops giving you a2,600-point bonus and an extraboost of speed.

1At the wide spring, you can either fly to the right sidethrough the Dash Ring or usethe spring to bounce up to thenext ledge. Taking the rightpath will lead to a Special Keyand 20 Rings.

Float over using Amy.

3Use Homing Attack to getacross the two flying enemies,hit the attack button to useTornado Hammer, and thenhold down the jump button topass through the Dash Ringand get the balloon that con-tains 10 Rings.

2When you reach the top ofthe cliff, be careful, the ruinswill fall this time when you getclose. Use Cream to fly up andget the Shield in the balloon.

3 Jump to the right platformwith four Rings on it and useAmy to float over to the far plat-form containing a 1up and 5Rings. If you fall down to thebeach below, don’t worry aboutit because you can easily get tothe other side of the beach.

4Have Amy float over to theplatform with the Dash Panel.Run on the center to passthrough the three rainbow hoops,launching your team to the otherside of the beach. You will see a

cage with a Special Key in it. Ifyou don’t have a Special Key, youcan run up the hill to the left ofthe cannon to reach it.

5When you reach the cannon,jump in using one of yourFormations. Depending on yourformation, the cannon willshoot to a different spot. Firststart by jumping in the cannonwhile in Power Formation.Remember that while in PowerFormation you can controlwhere you shoot, and cancel bypressing the attack button.

You can shoot a number ofblocks while in this Formation.Shoot the balloon out in the seato get a 1up and then cancel therest of your shots.

Both of these shoot you to thetop of the cliff. Use the SpeedFormation to collect all of theRings. Once you are at the top,use the Flying Formation to getover to the Jump Plate on thelone platform. Get enoughheight to grab the 10 Rings inthe balloon.

1Run straight down the center of the slope with Amyas the leader and when you run on the Dash Panel it willboost your characters throughthe rainbow hoops.

2After passing through theSpeed Formation change gate,switch to Power Formation andrun straight ahead. If you runstraight you will be able to getmost of the Rings and items.

3Break the final blocks withBig and you will see the GoalRing. If you want an extra 5Rings before finishing theStage, break the block locatedon the wall behind the goal.

The Leaf Swirl is an attack thatyou can use to toss enemiesinto the air and executeTornado Jump. Use the LeafSwirl to remove shields fromenemies. When you use LeafSwirl, Espio becomes invisibleand cannot be hit by beamsthat may block the path in thelater levels. Espio loses theability to Rocket Accel butgains the ability to throwShuriken stars. These can alsobe thrown when not invincibleby pressing the attack buttontwice, but only one can bethrown.

The Chaotix DetectiveAgency is always at your service if theprice is right. Lately however, things havebeen quiet with very little work available.One lazy day, a mysterious package isdelivered to Chaotix, and inside theyfind a transceiver which mysteriouslypromises a handsome payment ifChaotix will take on a case. Charmy isthrilled by the offer, but Espio remainssceptical due to the strange nature of thecommunication. Boss Vector, with dollarsigns in his eyes, wastes no time in gath-ering his troop together to take hastyadvantage of the opportunity. “You knowour policy! We never turn down work thatpays!”

Both the Extra Mission and theregular Mission objective inthis Stage require you to res-cue Chao. This guide covers theExtra Mission only. Remember,there is no difference betweenthe two, except that in the nor-mal mission, the enemies areable to see you.

6You can’t do anything aboutthat shielded robot while invisi-ble, so just use a Team Blast totake it and the two Flappersout. If you don’t have a TeamBlast, destroy the Flappers andthen get behind the shield EggPawn and smash through thestone door.

7 Turn invisible again andTriangle Jump to the other sideof the hallway. Run directlydown the middle of the JumpPlate and you will perform aTeam Trick with the maximumnumber of points.

4 Run past the shielded EggPawns and kill the two unshield-ed ones. You can’t smash theblock here, but you can use theside railing to go around it. Ifthis is your first time throughthis level, you can take theseguys out easily and take the toppath if you want.

1 After smashing through thefirst stone door with Vector,use Leaf Swirl with Espio tobecome invisible. The LeafSwirl is performed by jumpingup and pressing the attack but-ton. While invisible, Espio canthrow Shurikens.

2Destroy the first enemy,switch to Vector, smash theblock, and turn invisible to fin-ish off two more enemies. Afterthat, smash the block and thenfly up through the Dash Ring.

3Grab the Special Key in thecage, then smash the block youwere on to reveal a spring. Usethe spring to bounce upward.After smashing through thedoor, turn invisible again.

2After gliding up, land on theedge of the path and turn invis-ible again. Run past the EggPawn and jump onto the stoneblock. From there, you can hit itwith your Shurikens.

While invisible, enemies willnot attack you.

This side railing is enough toget by the block.

Land on this block to hit theFlapper.

5 Continue running down thepath. When the final stone fallsafter the enemies, get behind itand have Vector glide up to themain path using the fan.

1 Run down the path, avoid-ing the falling ruins, and turninvisible after the third onefalls. Switch to Vector and havehim blow a bubble to glide upusing the current from the fan.

If you aren’t invisible when Triangle Jumping, the enemies will see you.

1 After gliding up the first fan,land on the stones that fall andswitch to Espio. Turn invisibleand finish off the Flapper fromthere.

2 Have Vector glide up to thenext level of the path. Whenyou get up there, turn invisiblewith Espio and have him runaround to the right. Just pastthe stone blocks is a 1up in the corner.

5 At the top of the series offans, run to the left and breakthe weight that falls. Run for-ward to the ledge and dropdown to get a 1up.

6 Turn invisible and positionyourself near all of the enemiesby the Chao. Use a Team Blast.Rescue the Chao and theMission is over.

3 Run down the ramp past theSpeed Formation change gate,destroying the weight that fallsin front of you. Turn invisibleagain, run up the stairs, andbreak through the stone door toreveal a flower.

4 Open up the flower withCharmy, turn invisible, andjump inside. Run past the ene-mies here and at the end, standon the railing and defeat one ofthe robots. In the next section,stand on the railing to take outthe Flapper.

Drop down here and grab a 1up.

Use Team Blast at the end tofinish up.

Perform the aerial attackabove him.

Strategy:This is one of the easiest Bossfights ever. Run along the pathcollecting Rings until youreach the first beach area. TheEgg Hawk will land on thebeach and begin to spin andfire wildly. Switch to Vectorand fire at him while he isdescending (1). When helands, jump up above him andperform your aerial attack(2). If you fail to defeat himthe first time and the EggHawk becomes airborne again,run until you reach the secondbeach and finish him off there.You should get an A Rankingafter just a couple of tries(3).
