Welcome!
Mr. M. William HowardJr. Board of Governors, Chair Rutgers University The following presentation will address the
issues of overcrowding that currently plagues our University. We will discuss realistic ways to manage the situation given the current economy.
Agenda

What’s The Problem?
“record enrollment of 36,041”
(Tillman)
Hike in students
No hike in facilities
… Easy Solution:
Accept less students!
Why This Doesn’t Work:
43,297 applied, 24,804 admitted, 10,004 enrolled (OIRAP)
This Means:
Accepting less = University at risk
… “What I have noticed is that the buses are
packed. And there haven’t been more buses added on. There are more complaints about
dorm situations crowding and everything else in the world related to overcrowding”
- Professor Steve Miller
